Jake Hoot Would Consider A Duet With His Daughter Macy As She’s Got “One Of The Most Beautiful Voices”

Last year, singer/songwriter Jake Hoot released his single, “Best Job I Ever Had,” which featured the sweet voice of his young daughter, Macy. With this experience, along with a recent performance on stage next to her dad, she might just have a future career as an artist.

To celebrate his role of being a girl dad, as well as all the other dads in the world, Hoot released this song to celebrate Father’s Day in 2020, and even included some adorable photos and videos of his little girl, in addition to their brief conversation about bathroom etiquette.

The Season 17 winner of NBC’s The Voice married his current wife, Brittney Hoyt, in March of this year, making her Macy’s step-mom. Of course, the happy couple found the sweetest way to include his daughter, a.k.a. his “little princess,” within their ceremony, which was held in Murfreesboro, Tennessee at a farm. In addition to writing vows for one another, they also each wrote a set of vows to Macy, to showcase their love for her.

Because of Hoot’s second most important job, being an artist, Macy gets to be immersed in the music scene from a very young age. When asked if he thinks she could ever follow in her dad’s footsteps musically, Hoot responded, “absolutely.”

“Well, Macy was already featured. She wasn’t singing, but there’s a little clip. I released a single last year for Father’s Day called ‘Best Job I Ever Had.’ You can actually hear a clip of her talking, me and her talking back and forth, about her washing her hands before she eats,” Hoot told Music Mayhem. “But yeah, I mean, she is getting more and more out of her shell. She’s getting more and more confident on stage. I think she’s got one of the most beautiful voices I’ve heard, it’s soft and just angelic.”

Neither Macy’s biological mom nor her step-mom are professional musicians, but they do have incredible careers as nurses. This allows Macy to see all the different ways that the guardians in her life are able to help their communities, each in their own special way.

No matter what career Macy decides to pursue when she grows up, she has a loving family that will always support her and her dreams.

“Yeah, she wants to be on stage with us singing,” Hoot continued. “I’m always going to encourage it. I think sometimes she loves to sing and then other times she loves to do makeup and hair and nails on her dolls. So I don’t know what route or career choice she’s going to take. Then of course her mom and her stepmom are both nurses, and so she’s expressed a love for that. So we don’t know, but regardless, if she wants to be on stage we’re not going to hinder that by any means.”

Hoot is back on the road, and he will return to the stage at the Grand Ole Opry this week on Sept. 22 along with Rhett Akins, Lindsay Ell and Steven Curtis Chapman.
