Jake Hoot, winner of season 17 of The Voice, unveiled his jaw-dropping 60-pound weight loss transformation and is now sharing his healthy lifestyle journey in hopes to inspire others.

Jake Hoot Reveals 60-Pound Weight Loss

The 36-year-old country star from Texas took to social media on Saturday afternoon (April 5) to share his weight loss journey with fans. “I’ve been a little nervous to share this, but I wanted to let y’all in on what I’ve been working on,” he began. “I just hit the 60lbs down mark!”

Hoot shared that in early 2024, he “hit a rough spot when it came to my health,” and was unhappy with his overall body image.

“I didn’t like the way I felt or looked. I’d tried so many different diets and trends—some worked for a while, but the weight would always creep back once I slipped off track. I felt constantly drained, and even sleep didn’t seem to help,” he explained.

Shares Details Of His New Fitness Journey

Then, in late 2024, Jake Hoot reached a turning point, deciding “enough was enough.” He realized he was ready to make a complete lifestyle change, not just follow a diet. “I started working out, eating cleaner, and cutting out the stuff I knew made me feel awful. I teamed up with @andrew_c247 at @planetfitness a couple of days a week, then added a few more workouts here and there,” he continued. “And before I knew it, I started feeling different—better. More energy. More mental clarity. More capacity to do daily things.”

While he did admit that “it wasn’t easy,” Hoot says the first step to making a positive change is commitment. “Just committing to show up and do something each day made all the difference,” he added.

Jake Hoot has been taking fans along with his fitness journey on social media, sharing videos from “chest day” and his “minute in a mile” runs, where he takes a minute from his mile run to encourage his followers.

“I even started running. At first, I could barely get through half a mile. But after a couple of months, I worked my way up to running a full 5K—something I’ve only done once before in my life,” he detailed. “Just a few weeks ago, I realized I’m lighter now than I’ve been since my oldest daughter was born. That hit me hard—in the best way.”

Hopes To Encourage Others To Commit To A Healthier Lifestyle

He concluded his post with a message for those who also want to embark on losing weight and who want to commit to a healthier lifestyle.

“This isn’t a ‘look at me!’ kind of post. It’s a ‘if I can do this, YOU can too’ kind of post,” the singer/songwriter said, encouraging his followers. “All it takes is one step. One healthy choice. One “no” to something that doesn’t serve you. And then another step. And another. Eventually, you start to realize how strong your mind really is—and how the things you thought you couldn’t live without? They start to fade into the background.”

Jake Hoot admitted he was initially hesitant to share his weight loss news, acknowledging that he’s “far from perfect” and still makes mistakes “a lot” as he adjusts to his new lifestyle. “But progress isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up every day and making those small, consistent choices,” he said, closing out the motivational post. “Thanks for reading this far. I’m not trying to be a fitness influencer—I just wanted to share the journey I’m on, and maybe encourage someone else to take that first step. See y’all on the road!”
