Nelly is preparing to release his country-infused EP, Heartland! Now, fans are wondering if Morgan Wallen will be featured on the project.
On Sunday, May 16, the Grammy-award winning rapper shared a boomerang of himself to Instagram with the caption, “#HEARTLAND coming soon..!!!” In which, Wallen was quick to comment “send me the sneak!!!”
After fans seen Wallen’s comment, their excitement began.
“Are you going to be on it?! Sounds like a damn good collab that needs to happen,” one fan commented in response to Wallen. Another fan said, “you and Nelly! Hell yes.”
Nelly is no stranger to the country genre as he has been a part of several country collaborations, including Tim McGraw’s “Over And Over Again,” Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise” remix, Kane Brown’s “Cool Again” remix, Jimmie Allen’s “Good Times Roll” and more recently the forthcoming project’s lead single, Florida Georgia Line’s “Lil Bit.”
However, the rapper has never had a full album within the genre. His upcoming EP, Heartland, is not a full country album but it is a country influenced project.
“Heartland is a Nelly album but it’s country influenced, it’s not a country album,” Nelly explained to ET Canada. “I respect the art form that is country music, I respect the artist and what they put into it, I don’t live a country life to feel like I am a country artist but I have a love and appreciation for country music and I’m showing how it influences Nelly and I think that’s what you want to do as an artist, is to be able to bring people together and to do things that other artists can’t do.”
The rapper shared that he is truly “thankful” that his fans allow him to explore different genres with his music.
“I’m truly thankful that my fans allow me to do certain things like this,” Nelly explained. “when it comes to music as far as being able to be musically free and do music in different genres and still have success with it.”
No additional details of the project have been revealed yet.
