Earlier this month, Morgan Wallen joined his collaborator Lil Durk for the live debut of their fan-favorite duet, “Broadway Girls,” during MLK Freedom Fest at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, and at the hip-hop event, Wallen met one of his favorite rappers for the first time, Moneybagg Yo.

Wallen previously shared that he’s been a big fan of the “Time Today” singer for quite some time and that the rapper is actually the Top played artist on the East Tennessee native’s Spotify wrapped for the second consecutive year.

On December 29, Wallen joined comedian Druski in an hour-long discussion on Clubhouse, and during the conversation the “Sand In My Boots” singer spoke about wanting to potentially collaborate with Moneybagg Yo, the late Young Dolph and Kendrick Lamar.

“I do love Moneybagg [Yo],” Wallen said. “He’s definitely at the top of the list… But, like overall, ever… I’m trying to think of not just in the past little bit… Kendrick Lamar would be pretty cool.”

After sharing that hip-hop is his goto genre when listening music, he revealed, “Moneybagg is probably my favorite. And I listened to a lot of Young Dolph—RIP. I listened to Drake’s new album. I listen to Kanye… I’ve been listening to a little bit of Gunna. I like him, he’s pretty good.”

Now, just a few days ago, Wallen teased a new song on Instagram. While he didn’t disclose if the song was a confirmed collaboration with Moneybagg Yo or not, he did caption the post, “where u at @moneybaggyo?”

The country hitmaker and East Tennessee native teased fans with a brief clip on Instagram last week.

The video finds Wallen in the studio listening to a recorded demo of an unreleased track through white speakers. Will a collaboration with Wallen and Moneybagg Yo come to fruition? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

“Whiskey, Whiskey won’t you go away / come again some other day / because her memory came out to play, and I’m tired of it, tired of it / I don’t want to wonder where she been / she was here, and now she’s gone again / and now it’s me and all my whiskey friends, and I’m tired of it, tired of it,” Wallen sings in the clip.

Fans can listen to the complete Morgan Wallen discussion on Druski’s Clubhouse HEREBehind The Vest with Druski features new guests each week and airs every Wednesday at 10 pm EST.

Wallen closed out 2021 with the best-selling album of any genre with his record-breaking sophomore project, Dangerous: The Double Album. In addition to closing out the year with the best-selling album, Wallen also topped several other year-end lists.

The country hitmaker recently released two collaborations, including “Broadway Girls” with Lil Durk and “Flower Shops” with ERNEST.

Both “Broadway Girls” and “Flower Shops” are climbing the Billboard and iTunes charts, respectively.

The country hitmaker from East Tennessee is set to embark on his 70+ date Dangerous Tour, which is sold out in most markets. The tour will feature support from special guests HARDY and Larry Fleet.
