Luke Bryan’s wife Caroline and mom LeClaire appeared on the Got it From My Momma podcast during the 2023 CMA Fest to talk about all things Luke, from their unique perspectives as spouse and parent. They also discussed the possibility of a reality TV show, their infamous prank wars, and when LeClaire knew that her son would become a star one day.
Is A Luke Bryan Family TV Show On The Horizon?
When host Jennifer Vickery Smith asked the pair if they’d ever consider doing a reality TV show, LeClaire was quick to consider the possibility, while Caroline was more hesitant about inviting cameras into their private life.
“Somewhere down the line, we probably would,” LeClaire said in response to the idea of filming a reality TV show. “Cause we get along so good and we just love being together. Well, why not do something fun?”
Prefer To Keep Personal Lives Private
Caroline explained how she and her family already struggle to stay active on social media as they prefer to keep their private lives to themselves for the most part.
“When Luke’s not on the road or doing his stuff, we’re super private and everybody tells us, man, y’all suck at Instagram, because we don’t constantly do those selfies,” says Caroline. “That’s kind of like family time. So I don’t know. I mean, it would be something that if we ever did something like that, it would be a big step that we’re not totally comfortable with.”
LeClaire interjected, “It would definitely be a cooking show!” Caroline quickly quipped back, “Oh yeah. Because I suck at cooking and she likes to tell me that every day!”
Are Prank Wars Over for Luke Bryan’s Family?
The fun banter between Caroline and LeClaire has resulted in epic pranks over the years, but Caroline has made a promise not to scare LeClaire anymore after a particularly frightful incident.
The prank that caused LeClaire to have some “deep-rooted mental problems” was in 2019 when Luke and Caroline teamed up with social media personality Officer Daniels and comedian Chelcie Lynn (a.k.a. Trailer Trash Tammy) to pretend that a crazed fan was trying to get on Luke’s property.
As part of the family’s “Twelve Days of Pranksmas,” a woman (Chelcie Lynn) pretending to be the crazed fan appears on Bryan’s property and begins to chase him, prompting the country singer to run away. “Can I just have a hug, Luke?” the woman says as Bryan tells his mother to flee for safety before winding up on the ground with the “crazed fan” in tow.
Mama bear LeClaire doesn’t listen to her son and jumps in to help, trying to get the crazed fan to let go of him as they roll around on the ground. Officer Daniels then enters the scene to tell Bryan’s mother that he’s got the situation under control. “I got her, I got her,” he says. LeClaire then backs away and Bryan manages to free himself as the officer restrains her and Caroline suddenly rushes to his aid. Luke, Caroline and LeClaire prepare to leave the property, but then the “fan” manages to break free and says, “give me five minutes with her,” angering Caroline who gets in her face and says, “really?” Moments later, Luke and LeClaire appear at Caroline’s side before Bryan admits the “incident” has all been a stunt.
Caroline committed to scaling back the pranks after that incident. “I mean, I won’t have Luke attacked anymore, cause that about killed her,” she told Got it From My Momma podcast host Vickery Smith. But, that doesn’t mean that friendly aggravation is off the table. “Just aggravating her, just the look on her face is, I mean, it’s priceless,” Caroline giggled.
Luke Bryan’s Mom LeClaire Knew He Was A Star As A Baby
Reflecting on his childhood, LeClaire Bryan revealed that she knew from an early age that Luke had a special gift.
“I knew that when Luke was a tiny baby. I mean, you’ve heard me say I rocked Luke all the time and he and I hummed ‘Rock of Ages’ and before he could talk he could hum ‘Rock of Ages,’” she added. “He’s always been an entertainer.”
Fans can find Luke on the road this summer on his Country On Tour, which will stop in 36 cities across the U.S. with stops in Philadelphia, Denver, Nashville, Orlando, Charlotte, Raleigh, and more. Chayce Beckham, Tyler Braden, Ashley Cooke, Jackson Dean, Jon Langston, Conner Smith, Alana Springsteen, and Hailey Whitters join Bryan on select dates of the trek alongside DJ Rock.
