Harry Styles recently had a bit of an embarrassing moment on stage when he suffered a wardrobe malfunction during a California concert.

While performing a concert at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California on Thursday, Styles ripped his pants, according to videos that have since gone on social media. The moment happened while Styles was singing his song, “Music for a Sushi Restaurant.”

“My trousers ripped,” the 28-year-old singer and former member of boy band, One Direction told fans. “I feel it necessary to apologize to a certain few of you right down in the front there.”

“I promise it’s not part of the show,” Styles joked while trying to conceal the rip. “…this is a family show. Or is it?,” he added.

The Thursday concert was a continuation of Styles’ Love on Tour. It was also the first of three shows Styles had originally planned for November but was forced to re-schedule due to “band illness.”

The “As It Was” singer’s show drew in excited fans and A-list celebrities alike. Reality television star Kylie Jenner, talk show hosts Trevor Noah and Ellen DeGeneres, and actresses Julie Bowen and Jennifer Aniston were all in attendance, TMZ reported. Bowen even brought a homemade sign with her to the concert. The Emmy-award-winning actress made a light-up heart that read, “Harry I’m old” on one side and “but I know what I’m doing” on the other.

Styles launched his 120-show tour on Sept. 4, 2021. The tour, which sold 2.6 million tickets, made stops in the U.S., Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. The final two shows of the tour are set for Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 at Acrisure Arena in Southern California with special guest Madi Diaz.

Styles announced he was adding dates to Love On Tour back in the summer while he was in the middle of a multi-week residency at Madison Square Garden. He used the tour to promote his third studio album, Harry’s House, which was released on May 20, 2022 via Columbia Records.

The album, which represents the biggest release for 2022 in the U.K., featured singles, “As It Was,” “Late Night Talking,” and “Music for a Sushi Restaurant.”  In the U.K., the album sold 160,000 units and spent six non-consecutive weeks atop the Official U.K. Albums Chart in 2022, Billboard indicated.

In addition, the album helped Styles snag six nominations at the 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards. Lead single, “As It Was” snagged nominations for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Music Video. Harry’s House also snagged nominations for the coveted Album Of The Year as well as Best Pop Vocal Album.

Simon Cowell, host of America’s Got Talent and former host of The X Factor reacted to the news of Styles’ nominations, saying he “deserves the success and all of it.”

“It’s brilliant,” Cowell, who mentored Styles and his One Direction bandmates on The X Factor U.K., said. “I mean that’s the reason why we made these shows if I’m being honest with you. If we didn’t find stars like Harry there would be no point at all in doing what we do.”

“It’s always a thrill and he absolutely deserves the success and all of it,” he continued.

In addition to snagging six nominations at this year’s GRAMMY Awards, Styles will also perform at “music’s biggest night” on Feb. 5.
