Mitch Rowland, a GRAMMY-winning songwriter who tours with Harry Styles, is forging his own musical path with the release of his newest song “Bluebells.”

The folk-tinged track is a soothing listen that paints a picture of growth with a dose of introspection. Mitch Rowland penned the song solo and performs acoustic and electric guitar, drums, piano and vocals on the track, which was produced and mixed by Rob Schnapf and engineered by Matt Schuessler.

“This was the first song I finished after finding out my wife and I were having a baby,” Rowland shared. “We were stranded out in the English countryside for a little while and caught the bluebells blooming during that time. Seeing them is kind of like a wave goodbye to the cold. Quite a sight.”

Debut Album, Come June

“Bluebells” arrives ahead of Rowland’s debut album, Come June, which will be released on October 6 on Erskine Records/Giant Music.

Rowland began working on the project in 2019, and its recently-released title track was the first song he demoed for the album.

“We were near the end of making this album, and this song came back to me,” Rowland previously said in a statement regarding “Come June.” “It wasn’t part of the plan because of how it was originally recorded with harder drums and bigger guitars – I never pictured it with the rest of the songs. But after some re-approaching and re-recording everything, this song started to mean something again. I guess you could say this is a song for [Rowland’s wife] Sarah [Jones].”

Wrote Songs On Harry Styles’ Debut Album

Rowland moved to Los Angeles in 2013 and was on the verge of giving up on his dream when he got the chance to work with Styles in 2016 to write for the singer’s 2017 self-titled debut album. The pair’s collaboration gave way to some of Styles’ hits like “Meet Me In The Hallway”, “Watermelon Sugar” and “Golden” and scored Rowland a place in Styles’ touring band. It was there that Rowland met Jones, a drummer who also tours with Styles.

Rowland is currently fresh off touring with the British star, who just wrapped his massive Love On Tour in Italy last month. Jones was also on the trek with the couple’s fellow bandmates Pauli Lovejoy, Madi Diaz, Elin Sandberg, Ariza, Yaffra, Parris Fleming, Kailah Vandever, Lorren Chiodo and Laura Bibbs.

Toured With Harry Styles On Love On Tour

Harry Styles’ Love On Tour began in September 2021 and played 169 dates for over five million fans, becoming the fifth highest-grossing tour ever.

The trek wrapped up with earnings of $617.3 million, putting Styles’ tour behind all-time leader Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, which also ended this summer with a gross of $939.1 million, Ed Sheeran’s The Divide Tour, which grossed $776 million, U2’s U2 360° Tour, which raked in $736 million, and Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour, which also ended this year with a gross of $617.8 million.

All of those treks will eventually move down one ranking on the all-time list as Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is on track to become the first-ever tour to gross over $1 billion.

Along with making history, Love On Tour raised $6.5 million for charity, donating to organizations including Planned Parenthood, Choose Love, Physicians for Reproductive Health and Rebuild Foundation.
