Country newcomer HARDY has the secret recipe for success up his sleeve, as he has been cooking up a storm within music city. When the Mississippi native first arrived in town, he made a name for himself as a writer. HARDY had a hand in penning chart-topping hits for award-winning musicians like Chris Lane, Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line, Morgan Wallen, and more.

Following his rapid success as a song smith, the fast-rising country star called in his famous friends to join the star-studded lineup of his project – HIXTAPE Vol. 1 in 2019. The party-like playlist brought his career to new heights and had fans hungry for the full-fledged collection. After getting catapulted to stardom, HARDY launched HIXTAPE Vol. 2 in 2021.

While keeping up with the hottest stars within the country music space, the breakthrough artist invited a diverse array of hitmakers that would get any music-goer to press play. Brantley Gilbert, Jon Pardi, Jimmie Allen, Dierks Bentley, ERNEST, Lainey Wilson, Rhett Akins, Chase Rice are just some notable names that grace the inside of his critically-acclaimed two-part record.

However, the “One Beer” singer-songwriter recently wrapped up the highly-anticipated project with the 14th and final track “Goin’ Nowhere” with multi-platinum country hitmaker Morgan Wallen and Foo Fighters’ guitarist Chris Shiflett.

The country-rock-driven ballad hit streaming platforms Friday, December 10, and showcases their small-town upbringings. While HARDY and Wallen alternate verses, they justify why they wouldn’t leave their simple, yet beautiful country-like hometown.

‘Cause I’m stuck in this town in my truck riding ‘round with a plug of long cut in my lip / You’d have to cut the whole tree down / Can’t rip these roots out the ground ain’t getting out, and I don’t care / ‘Cause why in the hell would I leave / I don’t need anything but fried chicken and crickets / If there’s a yellow pine box you can carry me in it / This red dirt you can bury me in it / I’m goin’ nowhere,” goes the chorus.

While the two leave honky-tonk fans with goosebumps with their gritty sound and catchy lyrics, it was Chris Shiflett’s powerful guitar riffs and thunderous solo that elevates the anthem even more. “Goin’ Nowhere” was co-written by HIXTAPE founder HARDY, Joe Clemmons, Jacob Durrett, Cannan Smith, and produced by Joey Moi with co-production by Derek Wells.

The up-tempo banger marks one of Wallen’s first collaborations since the incident that occurred in February 2021. After taking a leave of absence from the music scene, the record-breaking artist is officially stepping back into the limelight stronger than ever. The “Sand In My Boots” musician is currently selling out stadiums across the United States and will kick off his headlining Dangerous Tour in 2022 alongside best pal HARDY and country newcomer Larry Fleet.
