Halestorm released a stunning cover of “I Will Always Love You,” a song made famous by Whitney Houston and Dolly Parton.
The song appears on their six-track effort, Halestorm Reimagined, which was released on Friday, August 14.
Frontwoman Lzzy Hale’s powerful, soaring vocals come to the forefront in this beautifully, stunning cover of such an iconic track, giving a refreshing new life to the popular song.
Halestorm Reimagined also features a guest appearance from Evanescence’s Amy Lee on a new version of a “Break In,” that first was heard on Halestorm’s 2012 album, The Strange Case Of… along with a number of other reworked tracks like “I Get Off” and “Miss The Misery.”
“Over the last decade we’ve been putting out cover EPs in between every original album cycle just for fun,” explained Hale. “But this time around we decided to shake it up! For our Reimagined EP, we committed to only one cover but filled the rest with reimagined versions of Halestorm songs. I hope you find something in Reimagined that brings you joy and hope in these crazy times we live in!”

“I Will Always Love You” was written and originally recorded in 1973 by American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton. Then, Whitney Houston recorded her version of the song for the 1992 film The Bodyguard. Her single spent 14-weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and is still one of the best-selling singles of all time.
