Gwen Stefani shared an anthemic new song on Thursday, March 11. The singer returned to her No Doubt ska roots with her just-released new track, “Slow Clap.”

“With this new single, ‘Slow Clap,’ It was the second song I wrote with Ross Golan and Luke Niccoli, right after I wrote ‘Reintroduce Myself,’ so I don’t know if you can hear that they have a similar, they’re kind of in the same world,” Stefani told Zane Lowe in an interview.

Stefani also teased her forthcoming album in the interview with Lowe, sharing that she has a title in mind for the project and has already shot the album art for the new record.

“I do have an idea of what the title is, and I actually did shoot the artwork,” Stefani told the Apple Music host. “So, I guess I can’t change it now, but I don’t know, I’m not really going to reveal it yet but it’s basically off of a song that I had already written that for me was the one peaking moment of like ‘okay this is what defines this phase of my life.’”

“Slow Clap” was co-written by Stefani, Ross Golan, and producer Luke Niccoli, the same team behind the nostalgic “Let Me Reintroduce Myself.” The track follows her previously released single, “Let Me Reintroduce Myself,” both of which are expected to appear on her highly-anticipated yet-to-be announced new album.
