Texas natives and country hitmakers Josh Abbott and Grant Gilbert recently joined forces to deliver a rowdy drinking track, “Six Pack State of Mind,” available to stream now HERE.

Gilbert’s single, released on Feb. 24, was co-penned by the River House Artists’ rising star with Jonathan Singleton, Jessi Jo Dillon and Dan Isbell. The feel-good song offers the perfect tune for fans to raise a glass to with friends.

“I’m gonna put one can in front of the other / To a two left two-step Gеorge Strait cover / Get three or four sheets to thе wind / ‘Cause, y’all, I’m in / A five o’clock quittin’ time / Six-pack state of mind,” sings Grant in the twang-filled track.

“Six Pack State Of Mind”

The single art for “Six Pack State of Mind” holds a special place in both Gilbert and Abbott’s hearts, as the marquee of Lubbock, Texas’ The Blue Light marks the place where both of the country artists began their careers, and where their friendship began to blossom. Grant took the legendary stage at the venue for his first shows whilst still in college at Texas Tech.

“I was going into the studio to cut a handful of songs but it felt like we were missing a song that you could turn on and have a drink to,” explained Gilbert. “We pushed our studio time back, dug in, and we came up with Six Pack State of Mind. A six-pack is a lot more fun when you aren’t by yourself, so it just made sense to have Josh Abbott jump on it with us.”

He continued, “I’m super proud of how it turned out and can’t wait to see people come out to shows and sing along to it and forget about the real world for 90 minutes. It’s the first of many for this year, so we’re fired up.”

“Since I met Grant, he’s been like a little brother to me. The kid can sing some amazing high notes, and he’s so passionate about doing this,” added Abbott.  “I love the guy and I’m honored to be a part of his song and hope it’s another ladder rung on the way to the top for him.”

Grant isn’t done pumping out new tracks for fans, as he recently shared his newest single, “Take Me Out To The Bar,” a spunky spinoff off the classic, “Take Me Out To The Ball Game.”

The upbeat track pays tribute to the ballpark ode with chorus, “Take me out to the bar and / I’ll drink with my party crowd / Line up them glasses and pour the Jack / Double ’em up ’cause she ain’t comin’ back / And I’ll shoot, shoot, shoot all the whiskey / ‘Til I don’t feel any pain / Yeah, it’s one, two, three shots go down / On this old heartbrеak.”

Fans can catch Grant live on the road for headlining dates, in addition to his shows alongside Josh Abbott, Josh Ward and Triston Marez.
