If there is one point Gabby Barrett is trying to drive home with her newest single “Cowboy Back,” which hit all music streaming platforms on October 6 (just one day after her and her husband Cade Foehner’s four-year anniversary), it is that good men do exist in the world.

Earlier this month, he talented singer-songwriter made her return with the soon-to-be hit song, spreading a one-of-a-kind message that country music lovers never saw coming, all while celebrating her to-die-for relationship with her husband, Cade Foehner.

“Cowboy Back”

Rather than releasing a single that emphasizes the idea that all men are trash (for lack of a better phrase), the Warner Music Nashville signee went an entirely different direction with “Cowboy Back.”

Written by Barrett herself, alongside Jon Nite and Jesse Frasure, the oh-so romantic tune celebrates the good men in the world, singing to those with strong values (such as honor, honesty and respect) and a rock-solid heart — how sweet is that?

“I was inspired by my wonderful husband, a Texan, when I was writing this one,” the 23-year-old shared. “‘Cowboy Back’ is all about appreciating the hardworking guys out there with strong values. Those who are authentically country.”

“Bring back them Carhartts, baby / Break out them old Luccheses / Black Stetson keep the sun out your eyes / My shotgun ride or die / ‘Yes, ma’am’ with a Southern accent / Stand up for what needs standin’ / Thank God I got a man like that / Look at you bringin’ cowboy back,” she sings in the chorus, ultimately driving this point home to all listeners.

Teased “Cowboy Back” for weeks

Fans of Barrett were thrilled to see the star-in-the-making release “Cowboy Back” earlier this month, given that she had been teasing it for weeks, ultimately building up anticipation amongst country music lovers.

She posted multiple teasers of the hot new track on Instagram leading up to its release, and she even performed it on the road while opening up for Jordan Davis on his Damn Good Time Tour — becoming a fan favorite by teasers alone, “Cowboy Back” was long overdue!

“I’m so excited. I already know the whole song! I’m excited for you to release it on your anniversary,” one fan wrote in the multi-platinum artist’s comment section on Instagram, prior to the release of the single.

Another gushed, “I replayed that clip so many times! LET’S GO!!! 🔥🔥”

“So excited for this incredible song,” shared a third.

Follow-Up to “Glory Days”

With “Cowboy Back” out for the world to hear, Gabby Barrett has officially released two songs from her forthcoming sophomore album.

“Cowboy Back” serves as a follow-up to the vocal powerhouse’s top 30-and-climbing single titled “Glory Days,” which hit all music streaming platforms this past June, and it is equally as phenomenal.

“Glory Days” reminds fans of the importance of cherishing the moments that shape our lives, with a music video directed by Alexa Campbell and co-produced by Barrett and Taylor Vermillion that coincides with this message beautifully. Starring Barrett herself, alongside her husband and two children (Baylah May and Augustine Boone), the music video is definitely a must-see, ultimately capturing the essence of what “Glory Days” is all about.

“What you see literally are my ‘Glory Days’ right now,” the Pennsylvania native shared with CMT in an exclusive interview. “It’s sitting on the porch and reading the Bible with my husband or rocking my baby to sleep. This video perfectly brings the lyrics to life. Just filming with our kids for the first time is something I’ll never forget. We had so much fun during the water balloon fight and were absolutely drenched after filming. The whole shoot we couldn’t stop laughing! We can all get so caught up in living for the future that we forget to cherish the moments we have right now. I hope that’s the takeaway, to be grateful for what you have.”

Forthcoming Sophomore Album

As mentioned previously, both “Cowboy Back” and “Glory Days” are a glimpse into Barrett’s forthcoming sophomore album, and fans seriously cannot contain their excitement.

At Stagecoach earlier this year, the chart-topping artist revealed to Entertainment Tonight in an exclusive interview that her second studio album will likely arrive in early fall. With autumn officially underway, fans are anxiously awaiting the full-length project as we speak.

In this same interview, the songstress teased what fans can expect from the album itself: “I’m way more intentionally connected to these songs than my first album, I would say. Every song moves me in a certain way, and it’s just me grown up. The past years that I’ve lived, I’ve lived a lot of years in a short amount of time. It’s grown up, it’s fresh, and I’m hoping people really can resonate with it.”

For updates on the project that Barrett has in the works, country music lovers can connect with the talented singer-songwriter on Instagram so they do not miss a thing.
