Dustin Lynch and Mackenzie Porter are making history with their platinum-selling collaboration “Thinking ‘Bout You.”
Their six-week, chart-topping hit is now the longest-running Top 10 single on the Billboard Country Airplay chart (27 weeks) since the chart launched in January 1990.
“Wow! Adding this stat to ‘Thinking ‘Bout You’ is so huge. It further validates what we all felt with this song, and it’s so rewarding to see it continue to connect with listeners,” Lynch said, reacting to the feat. “Y’all keep blowing us away with this song!”
Below is a list of the longest-running Top 10s in Billboard Country Airplay chart history.
- “Thinking ‘Bout You” – Dustin Lynch and MacKenzie Porter (27 weeks)
- “If I Didn’t Love You” – Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood (26 weeks)
- “Famous Friends” – Chris Young and Kane Brown (23 weeks)
- “Amazed” – Lonestar (21 weeks)
- “One Of Them Girls” – Lee Brice (20 weeks)
- “Somebody Like You” – Keith Urban (20 weeks)
After the tune held strong at No. 1 for six-weeks in February 2022, Lynch made history at his record label surpassing a feat only Jason Aldean had previously achieved.
“As the song started climbing, we were able to go out and play some shows, both [MacKenzie Porter] and I, and get to feel the familiarity come across the crowd each night and enjoy that,” Lynch said during an interview on Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen on Apple Music Country.
“You can’t plan six weeks at number one. You can’t plan a song to have success like that. It set a record for my career. It set a record for my record label [Broken Bow Records], which is a feat that I can’t even believe,” Lynch continued. “Jason Aldean is my label-mate, so it’s kind of nice to have one on the old man now… We’re really good buds, and we’re fans of each other. I just like that now I’ve got, finally, I’ve got one on him that he gets to try to beat.”
At the start of the new year, these duet partners surpassed multi-platinum artist Luke Combs’ heartfelt song “Forever After All.” Combs’ heartfelt ballad was the last single to spend five weeks or more on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart before “Thinking ‘Bout You” overtook its spot at six weeks in the leading spot. Lynch also saw his song top Combs’ 2019 record for “Beautiful Crazy,” which spent four weeks at No. 1.

Lynch’s collaboration with Porter surpassed his four-week No. 1 mark set by his 2017 track, “Small Town Boy.”
Co-written by Lynch alongside Andy Albert, Hunter Phelps and Will Weatherly, “Thinking ‘Bout You” is Lynch’s eighth No. 1 hit in the United States and his second No. 1 hit in Canada at Country radio, as well as his third career chart-topper as a songwriter.
With the song, which has amassed over 300 million global on-demand streams, Porter earned her first-ever No. 1 in the United States and her fourth Canadian No .1.

Additionally, the country superstar’s new single “Party Mode” is climbing the charts at Country radio. “Party Mode” is a track from Lynch’s fifth studio album, Blue In The Sky, and scored him the biggest add week and his highest career debut at Country radio.
Lynch is currently in the midst of his 17-city headlining Party Mode Tour and has stops in Pikeville, Kentucky and Washington, D.C. this week before wrapping up later this Spring in May.
