Dolly Parton reacted to Chapel Hart’s impressive America’s Got Talent audition.

The country music trio caught the attention of the country music icon with their performance of an original song called “You Can Have Him Jolene.” Their stunning performance earned a golden buzzer from the America’s Got Talent judges and host Terry Crews.

Parton took to Twitter on Wednesday morning (July 20) to share her thoughts on their song.

“What a fun new take on my song, @ChapelHartBand!” Parton wrote. “Carl’s birthday is today so I think I’ll hang on to him, and I’m not notifying Jolene that today is his birthday. 😉 #AGT”

The trio is composed of two sisters and their cousin and their group’s namesake comes from the small town that they were raised in.

“We grew up in a small community called Hart’s Chapel, it’s named after our family because there’s way too many of us,” Trea joked, before Devynn explained how the group knows each other, “So Danica and I are sisters and Trea is our first cousin.”

On Tuesday evening (July 19), the country music trio from Mississippi wowed AGT viewers with their upbeat tune that was inspired by a Dolly Parton hit.

“So, we’re going to sing an original song, it’s called ‘You Can Have Him Jolene.’ We’ve always been country music fans and Dolly [Parton] by far is our favorite,” Danica explained. “We were so inspired by the song ‘Jolene’ and we just love the storyline and we figured from 1973 to 2022 we can not still be fighting over the same man. So, we decided to tell her you can just have him Jolene.”

Danica, Devynn and Trea delivered an energy-filled performance of the tune that allowed their spirited personalities to shine through their impressive stage presence.

“Oh Jolene, you can have him ’cause he don’t mean much to me / Well I brought so much, two rivers turned the seas / Oh Jolene, when you think that he’s in love surely leave / Like he did me / You can have him Jolene,” the trio sang on the chorus of the track.

Chapel Hart’s Stunning Performance Earned The Golden Buzzer On America’s Got Talent

The stunning performance, which had the entire crowd and judges off their feet clapping along, earned a golden buzzer from the America’s Got Talent judges and AGT host Terry Crews, a feature that is reserved for the most exceptional of acts.

Following a massive standing ovation from the audience, the AGT judges Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara, and Heidi Klum then gushed over their vibrant performance.

“Oh my God!” Cowell shouted, before adding, “trust me, I needed you today! I mean, that was fantastic! I love you and love the choreography you have going on around you. It was just brilliant.”

Cowell then asked the trio, “have you been trying to get a record deal or a big break? Tell me.”

Chapel Hart’s Danica then tearfully told Cowell, “we’ve been trying to break into Nashville for the last couple of years and It’s been kind of hard when I think Country music doesn’t always look like us.”

“You know what you got to do sometimes? You just got to break down that door and you may have just broken down the door with that performance. Trust me,” Cowell gushed.

“The energy in this room right now is amazing!” Crews said from the side of the stage.

Mandel then praised the trio for the extraordinary performance.

“First of all, I believe you broke down the door. I love song, I love the energy, I love the look. You say Country music doesn’t look like you, that is your win because you are going to be the original,” Mandel declared.

Klum then commented on their exceptional audition.

“Your joy is infectious and everything that you’re giving is received over here and I loved it!” Klum exclaimed.

“Everything was perfect, the song, the energy, you guys look like you’ve been doing this for a long time and I’m so proud of you guys,” Vergara added.

Cowell then told the trio that he already used his golden buzzer, but admits that if he hadn’t yet used it he would for them.

The group of celebrity judges and the show’s host then collectively slammed the golden buzzer, sending Chapel Hart to the live rounds.

As the golden confetti showered down upon the trio, Danica, Devynn and Trea were overcome with emotions and busted into tears.

“Follow your dreams, it doesn’t matter how crazy they are, how outlandish it is, if they say that’s not a real job you just show them that it is. Like there are little girls in Poplarville, Mississippi who think that this isn’t possible, but we’re doing it,” the group shared.
