The Mexican Pizza at Taco Bell is back, and Dolly Parton is ecstatic!

Parton took to social media to share her excitement on Thursday when the Mexican Pizza made its long-awaited return to the fast-food giant.

The East Tennessee native and Dollywood owner made sure to quickly get her hands on the dish she has missed so much.

“I have been longing for this moment for so long! It’s finally here! You know what this is, oh look at that is that not beautiful,” Parton said, referencing the Mexican Pizza she was holding.

”Ah, look at that, it almost looks too good to eat, but I’m gonna,” Parton said as she took her first bite. “So good, you go get you one of these. Oh mercy, it was worth the wait.”

Parton has been vocal about her love for Taco Bell entrée. In a recent interview with Insider, she divulged her go-to Taco Bell order

“I like soft-shell tacos,” the “9 to 5” singer revealed. “I like the others, but they fall apart so bad, especially if you’re riding around. So I always get a Taco Supreme, with the sour cream and all that, in the soft shell. I love that.”

“I get an order of rice and beans,” she added. “And I get mild sauce. I don’t like to get it too hot and ruin everything.”

After 35 years on the menu, Taco Bell removed the Mexican Pizza from its offerings in November 2020. At the time of the interview, Taco Bell had not yet revealed plans to bring back the beloved menu item and Parton told the publication she thinks “they should” bring it back.

Her wish was granted several weeks later when Taco Bell added the fan-favorite entrée back to the menu.

On May 9, It was revealed that Parton and rapper Doja Cat partnered with Taco Bell to release Mexican Pizza: The Musical, a film honoring the fan-favorite Taco Bell entrée’s return. The musical will feature Parton, Doja Cat, Victor Kunda, among others.

Written by Hannah Friedman, Mexican Pizza: The Musical will feature music by Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear as well as original music to spotlight the brand’s biggest fans and more.

Additionally, the country icon was announced as a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee.

The Opry member recently released her James Patterson co-authored novel, Run, Rose, Run, and the companion album of the same name.
