Darius Rucker Is Preparing To Release His Seventh Studio Solo Album, Carolyn’s Boy

The exciting tour news comes on the heels of the “Wagon Wheel” singer’s unveiling of the details surrounding his yet-to-be released new project, Carolyn’s Boy. The album’s title is an ode to Rucker’s late mother Carolyn, with fans already getting a sneak peek into the record with tracks “Same Beer Different Problem” and “Ol’ Church Hymn” (featuring Chapel Hart).

“At the end of the day, I’m really still just Carolyn’s Boy,” he said during an interview with TODAY. Along with the title, Rucker revealed the sentimental cover image this past November, a portrait of Carolyn, his late mother. “I wanted to name the record Carolyn’s Boy because Mom never got to see any of my success,” he explained. “She died before any of this happened, so it’s just another homage to the greatest woman I’ve ever known.”

HootieFest: The Big Splash & Riverfront Revival Music Festival

In addition to his Starting Fires Tour, fans can catch the multi-Platinum artist with his Hootie & the Blowfish bandmates this spring as they return to the stage for the second annual HootieFest: The Big Splash. Set on the picturesque white sand beach located at Moon Palace Cancún, the four-day celebration will take place from April 26-29 and will include three headlining performances from the band and a special sunset show.

Goo Goo Dolls, Barenaked Ladies, Collective Soul, Gin Blossoms, Everclear, Edwin McCain, Lit and Cowboy Mouth will also make appearances during the event for intimate, oceanfront performances.

Limited amounts of ticket and travel packages are still available at HootieFest.com.

Rucker already has a jam-packed schedule this year, with his Riverfront Revival Music Festival returning on October 7-8 in the chart-topper’s hometown of Charleston, SC. The star-studded lineup is expected to be revealed in the near future, with early access presale tickets available for purchase now via RiverfrontRevival.com.
