Cyndi Lauper’s performance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve cause quite an eruption of confused fans on Twitter.

On Thursday (Dec. 31), the pop icon kicked off her performance with a duet of “True Colors” alongside Billy Porter, who starred in her original Broadway production of Kinky Boots.

Following her performance of “True Colors,” Porter exited the stage and Lauper’s glam team approached her saying “Let’s take off your scarf,” to remove her scarf before her next song. Lauper was not happy about this as she yelled “I’m on camera, I’m on camera.” The assistant ran off the stage quickly and after a brief moment of awkwardness, the icon bursted into her next song, “Hope.”

Lauper donned an all white ensemble that included a white latex jacket and pants, with her signature platinum white hair.
