Rising country singer/songwriter Connor McCutcheon has released his new eagerly-awaited Two Beers EP. The project serves as the follow-up to 2024’s six-track collection, Top of the Hill.
Featuring a half dozen ear-grabbing songs, Two Beers showcases McCutcheon leaning into his softer side as he examines the highs and lows of a relationship. McCutcheon worked alongside Brent Anderson to produce the EP, bringing together the sounds that makeup who he is as an artist.
“I would say my sound is a mix of pop melodies with country storytelling lyrics,” McCutcheon, who “started messing around making beats for my friends [in college] and then realized songwriting was cool,” tells those who are new to his music in an interview with Music Mayhem. “Throughout this journey, I’ve been trying different sounds to help stand out from the pack, and I finally feel like I’m getting closer to who I want to be as an artist.”

Two Beers illustrates just that. And as Connor McCutcheon finds himself evolving into the next phase of his artistry, he reflects on the growth he has experienced from his first collection of music to his current release.
“I feel like the Top Of The Hill EP was my introduction into the country space, as it was my first project,” the Nashville native, who is destined to have a bright future in Country music, shares. “With the Two Beers EP, I believe I’ve dialed my sound as an artist as well as what I want to say.”
Two Beers opens with the infectious title track, which offers light-hearted summer vibes as McCutcheon paints the picture of falling for someone while sharing a round of Blue Moon on the bed of a truck. McCutcheon’s raspy vocals shine on the chorus as he croons over the girl who stole his heart.
“Two beers sippin’ em cold in the bed of a truck / Two beers that’s all it took to get me drunk,” he sings. “Girl, I was already wasted / On that strawberry kiss that I tasted / Now I’m wondering if you’re missing me now / I’m drinking whiskey thinking about / Two beers sippin’ em cold in the bed of a truck / Two beers that’s all it took to get me drunk.”

When asked if he could choose one song from his catalog to show to someone who has never heard his music before McCutcheon says he would offer up the title track.
“I would pick ‘Two Beers’. I feel like it shows new fans who I am from both a sonic and lyrical perspective!” He reasons.
Keeping a strong momentum going, the EP segues into the radio-ready “Move On Together” — a song that features a relaxed yet vibrant melody reminiscent of Morgan Wallen’s “Love Somebody.” Lyrically, “Move On Together” finds McCutcheon wishing to have remained amicable with an ex, with a desire to comfort one another during a time of heartbreak.
“I’m stoked about all of these songs, but ‘Move On Together’ hit me as soon as we wrote it,” McCutcheon shares of the track he wrote alongside Cole Phillips and Jake Hess, “…. they had a great idea, and we ended up cutting it!” The track is a standout on the EP, and will likely go on to become a signature song for McCutcheon.
Elsewhere on the EP, McCutcheon, who draws inspiration from artists ranging from John Mayer and Justin Bieber to Wallen and Hardy, shares a vivid story through lyrics on “I Don’t Miss You At All,” describing the special moments he shared with a former flame.
“When it’s raining on Second Street / When I put some Coke in some Crown / When another season of a show we’ve binged comes out / Any time the Cubs get a win / When the leaves all change in the fall / Baby, I might miss you then / But otherwise I don’t miss you at all,” McCutcheon croons over a bright pop-country melody.
“Sleep Walkin’,’” meanwhile, soothes the listener with its dreamy melody as McCutcheon tackles the idea of returning to an ex when the bars close down. “Sleep walkin’ out of your bed into mine / Sleep walkin’ into my head every night / You can tell me that it’s over, that’s fine / But you take it back, take me back all the time when you’rе / Sleep walkin’ / Sleep walkin’ out of your bed into mine,” the chorus goes.
One song that surprisingly isn’t on the EP is the popular track “Mine To Miss” which blew up after McCutcheon and his collaborator Nathan Wilson teased the song on social media. The tune has not yet been released, and McCutcheon and his team finalized his Two Beers EP before the song could be added on.
Although “Mine To Miss” isn’t officially out, McCutcheon says, “It’s been so cool to watch “Mine To Miss” grow legs of its own from TikTok. When we posted the original video, we didn’t even have the song finished, but everyone seemed to gravitate towards what we had, so we knew it was special. We then got together the next day to finish it! The team and I have scrambled to get a release date, and I assure you it’s dropping sooner than we think!”
Sharing a brief synopsis of the track before its release, McCutcheon says, ‘Mine To Miss’ is a crazy story because we had already written a song that day…went to a basketball game…and then decided to hit the studio again around 11 pm. Evan Cline, Nathan Wilson, and I wrote the song, but the idea originally came from our buddy Seth Packan saying, “she ain’t mine to miss” in the studio. I remember we all turned and looked at him and realized it would work great with the beat Evan was making, and we went from there!”
“I’m also super excited to have “Mine To Miss” as my next single after the EP, and I’m thankful for everyone that has found me and my music through that song,” he adds.
McCutcheon, who has performed for artists like Rascal Flatts’ Gary LeVox, Tim McGraw, Chris Janson, and others, has a full schedule coming up. He is slated to perform at the 29th Annual BMI Key West Songwriters Festival from April 30-May 4 and has a series of other shows spread throughout the year, according to his official website.
