Cody Johnson and his wife, Brandi Johnson, shared the exciting news that they’re expecting their third child while walking the red carpet at the 2025 ACM Awards on Thursday evening (May 8).

The beloved country duo surprised fans by subtly revealing they’re set to welcome a baby boy later this year — their first son, who will join big sisters Clara Mae and Cori. Though they didn’t make an official announcement on the carpet, Brandi proudly cradled her baby bump, glowing in a form-fitting sage green silk gown. Cody kept it classic in denim jeans, a white pearl snap shirt, a plaid sport coat, gray boots, and a straw cowboy hat.

Cody and Brandi Johnson welcomed their first daughter, Clara Mae, in 2015, followed by their second daughter, Cori, in 2017. Now, in 2025, the couple is preparing to expand their family once again — this time with a baby boy.

Cody Johnson met Brandi when he was a teen and working as a bull rider, later becoming a prison guard. She encouraged him to pursue music full-time, and the pair got engaged after a year of dating and married in 2008. Brandi has supported Johnson throughout his journey, long before his first No. 1 hit, and he often credits her as the driving force behind his success.

Most-Nominated Texas-Born Artist At ACM Awards

Cody Johnson heads into the 2025 ACM Awards as the most-nominated Texas-born artist, earning seven nods, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Single of the Year (“Dirt Cheap”), Song of the Year (“Dirt Cheap”), Music Event of the Year (“I’m Gonna Love You” featuring Carrie Underwood), and Visual Media of the Year for both “Dirt Cheap” and “I’m Gonna Love You.”

This marks the most ACM nominations he’s received in a single year, tying him with Morgan Wallen as the most-nominated male artist of the night.
