Kentuckys natives Chris Stapleton, Dwight Yoakam, and Tyler Childers will perform at the just-announced “Kentucky Rising” benefit concert set for Tuesday, October 11 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.
Tickets for the one-night-only event go on sale this Friday, September 16.

“Kentucky Rising” was organized in response to the devastating flooding in the area earlier this summer. According to a press release, 100% of net proceeds from the concert will benefit the “Kentucky Rising Fund” to support flood relief work and recovery efforts in Eastern Kentucky, including support for the many victims, their families and first responders. Under guidance from the Blue Grass Community Foundation, the “Kentucky Rising Fund” will strategically support both immediate needs and long-term recovery projects as they emerge.
According to a recent report from The Associated Press, the historic flooding left at least 39 people dead across Kentucky. Hundreds more were left homeless.
Following the catastrophic flooding, Stapleton and Childers were spotted on the ground in Appalachia helping those impacted by the floods with cleanup efforts.
Childers was reportedly assisting with flood relief efforts in Letcher County, while Stapleton strapped on his boots and got to work in Knott County in the days after the flood.

He was seen shopping for supplies at Walmart and Lowe’s, and delivering them around the area.
According to various social media posts, Stapleton offered to do anything and everything to help those impacted by the floodwaters.
“Chris wanted to help with anything, literally anything,” wrote one Facebook user, who is the wife of a police officer in the area. “No job was to[o] small or beneath him. This man loves Eastern KY and he wanted to be gods hands and feet for the people who need help the most right now!”

While on the ground, the “Starting Over” singer proved he is a hometown hero as he visited with first responders and other volunteers assisting in the cleanup.
“I thanked him for everything he was doing and he said it’s my home♥️,” wrote one Kentucky resident.
Following the flood, Stapleton revealed that he was assisting with flood relief efforts through his Outlaw State Of Kind fund.
“Our hearts are with Eastern Kentucky & everyone who has been affected by the devastating floods throughout the country,” the organization’s website reads. “The Outlaw State of Kind Hometown Fund is donating funds to the Kentucky Red Cross and Appalachia Crisis Fund to aid those in need.”
