Chris Lane and his wife, Lauren Bushnell Lane, are preparing to welcome their second child, and as they anticipate the baby’s arrival the couple was recently surprised with a brand new due date.
The expectant mother took to Instagram stories earlier this week to reveal that she’s had her due date wrong since the beginning.
“Guys I’ve had my due date wrong this whole time,” she joked. “Tell me it’s your second baby without telling me.”
Lauren went on to reveal her new date, which happens to be a very special day in the Lane household.
“My due date is actually October 25th which is @iamchrislane and my anniversary! Will be our third anni(versary). How crazy would that be,” she wrote.
Chris and Lauren announced their pregnancy on Monday, June 6 in an exclusive interview with People.
“I guess it’s no secret to what’s been goin on in the Lane household. Dutty is gonna be a brother!” Chris shared on Instagram.
They admitted that the pregnancy came as a bit of a surprise, given that they weren’t actively trying to conceive.
“To be quite honest, I’ve never been more shocked in my entire life, because this was very much an unexpected surprise,” Lauren told People. “We had planned on having at least two kids, so we’re very thankful that it was able to happen for us, even if it wasn’t necessarily on our exact timing. We’re both just incredibly excited.”
Their new bundle of joy will join their son, Dutton Walker Lane, who recently celebrated his first birthday.
A few days after announcing her pregnancy, Lauren shared that she had been diagnosed with a condition called marginal umbilical cord insertion. She turned to her 1.5 million Instagram followers with hopes that someone else had experienced similar issues.
“I was recently diagnosed with something called marginal cord insertion. I was incredibly stressed out when my doctor told me that but I am trying to stay optimistic,” Lauren admitted. “And I am just wondering if anyone else on here has been diagnosed that and what that was like for you and your pregnancy.”
According to her doctor, she will have to get an ultrasound every four weeks throughout the remainder of her pregnancy.
“It sounds like I just have to be monitored more often. As of now, the baby is very healthy. Looks like measuring great, measuring a little bit big if anything, so that is such a blessing,” she said.
According to Birth Injury Help Center, marginal umbilical cord insertion “occurs when the cord attaches on the side of the placenta instead of in the middle at the central placental mass. Marginal cord insertion is considered abnormal and it occurs in roughly 9 out of every 100 pregnancies.”
Before signing off Lauren added, “Again, I’m trying to stay optimistic, but I do know It can cause some complications. So just be saying some prayers for us.”
The couple has yet to reveal the baby’s gender, however, Lauren asked her Instagram followers to weigh in with their thoughts on her recent post.
