Chris Lane detailed what’s next for his career after marking 10 years in Nashville. In a new YouTube video shared by the country superstar on Thursday (Jan. 4), he revealed plans for what’s to come.

Chris Lane has been a fixture in country music for the past decade, first releasing his debut single, “Broken Windshield View,” in 2014. He has since released three albums and scored multiple hits, including three No. 1s at country radio, and he recently entered a new chapter in his career when he signed with Red Street Records in 2023.

What’s Next For Chris Lane?

In a new video, Lane opened up about the “new lane” of his career, revealing that he’s officially been in Nashville for 10 years. For much of that time, Lane was signed to Big Loud Records, a partnership that recently ended. Lane signed with Jay DeMarcus’ Red Street Records in 2023 in a partnership with Lane’s own Voyager Records and released his EP From Where I’m Sippin’ in October.

“It’s been 10 incredible years, six to seven of those with the record deal and songs on the radio, number ones, a part of massive tours all over this country,” Lane reflected of his journey in Music City, adding that the past year has given him the opportunity to “take all the success that I’ve already had in this town” and start Voyager Records and partner with Red Street.

“It’s been a dream partnership,” he shared. “I think every artist in this town wants more ownership and freedom over the songs that they write, over the songs that they record, and I’m so thankful that Red Street’s allowed me to have that freedom and given me the partnership to do so. It’s been a dream come true.”

Lane Signed A Record Deal, Working On New Music Following EP Release

Along with a new label home, Lane’s new lane includes more new music, which he’s currently working on. In regard to his new releases, Lane noted that “it’s a little bit different in the sense of for the first time in my career, I prioritized songwriting like I never had been able to before because I spent so much time out on the road.”

“So now I’ve reached this point in my career where I could take a step back from the road and not tour so much, focus on songwriting,” he continued. “I’m so proud of the songs that I’ve been writing and cannot wait to share these songs with the world.”

As for what those new songs will sound like, the 39-year-old noted that he doesn’t want to deviate too far from what fans have loved from him in the past, referencing several of his chart-topping hits such as “Big, Big Plans,” “I Don’t Know About You” and “Take Back Home Girl.”

“I don’t want to run away from what has given me success in this industry,” he said, adding that new songs like “Mistake” and “Betcha,” which both appear on From Where I’m Sippin’, are “kind of write down the center of what I’ve had success with.”

Pulls Inspiration From His Wife Lauren And Their Two Sons Dutton And Baker

Lane explained that he pulls from his life for inspiration for his music, including his wife, Lauren, and their two sons, Dutton and Baker.

“I’m so thankful I have the freedom to write about whatever I want to write about and record the songs that I want to record,” he said. “And I know I’ve said this a million times, I’m so proud of every single song on this EP, and I have so many more to come after this.”

Lane Has New Music On The Horizon

The North Carolina native shared that he “cannot wait” for fans to hear his upcoming music.

“I’m praying that these songs that I’ve written, that when people hear ’em, they relate to ’em,” he said. “I hope it takes ’em to a specific place or somebody. [I] mean, just like Kenny Chesney songs do for me, I hope my songs do for other people [and] I think that’s what we all want as artists and songwriters.”
