After exploring the highs and lows of romantic relationships in previously released tracks “Hurt No More” and “Wish You’d Miss Me,” Chase Wright shares his most honest single yet with his new song, “Never Loved Before.” Fans can stream Wright’s most recent release HERE.
The fast-rising country star welcomed his first son, Ashur Lee Wright, into the world in Nov. 2022 with girlfriend Brittany Norris. The strong relationship he has built with Norris paired with the joys of becoming a new father gave Wright a new perspective on love — an outlook that was more mature and authentic than the “Lying with You” singer had ever felt before.
“Everyone grows up learning how to navigate relationships differently, thinking they know what love is from an early age — and I was no different. Being in a relationship and raising our son Ashur together has taught me so much about love and partnership. And I’ve learned that love runs much deeper than any emotion I’ve felt before,” said Wright. “Growing together… and I hope that’s something everyone can find and recognize.”
Written by Wright with Jeffrey East and Josh Kelley and produced by Jared Keim, “Never Loved Before” reflects on the true meaning of love and how those feelings have evolved after entering parenthood.
“Forever was a word that I/ Would throw around from time to time/ But something ’bout it never felt quite right/ Promises and foolish hearts/ Were made to break and fall apart/ At least I learned what loneliness feels like/ Now nothing’s the same/ You changed everything/ I thought I knew/ Love until you/ Now I’m not so sure/ With you in my life/ I’ve learned that I’ve/ Never loved before,” sings Wright in the touching track.

The Indiana-native wrapped up 2022 with the release of “Hurt No More,” a single penned by Wright alongside Kane Brown, Jeremy Bussey, Ben Johnson and Taylor Philips that has earned more than 10 million streams to date. The song brings to life the inner turmoil of missing a long-lost love, while still acknowledging the toxicity of the relationship.
“I was playing a show this past year in North Carolina and [“Hurt No More co-writer] Taylor Phillips lives there, so he ended up coming out and we were just hanging out talking about songs he was working on,” shared Wright in an interview with PEOPLE prior to the release of the single.
He continued, “As soon as I heard what he had, it felt like a hit. I begged him to let me write the second half of the song with him.”
On support of his music releases, Wright surprised fans with the exciting announcement of his Hurt No More Tour, set to kick off on March 24 in Indianapolis, IN and wrap up on July 15 in Topeka, KS.
