Carrie Underwood released her first-ever Christmas album, My Gift, which features her son Isaiah on a track, “Little Drummer Boy.”

In a recent holiday special with iHeartRadio, the country superstar sat down with Mario Lopez to discuss the album and having her son featured on a song as well as performed three tracks from the aforementioned album including “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” “Mary, Did You Know?” and “O’ Holy Night.”

“He definitely loves music. He loves to sing. There’s some pure joy that he just gets from singing, and it makes me so happy,” Underwood explained. “I don’t know if this is the life for him, we’ll support him in whatever he’d like to do in life. But, that was such a special moment for me, to get to share what I love doing with my son. And, I was like, ‘I don’t know if it’s gonna work, he might not cooperate, or he might not want to.’ Definitely didn’t want to pressure him in any way, but he was such a pro. He went in and sang, and just sang his little heart out, and I was so proud.”

Underwood will be released her HBO Max special, bringing My Gift to life visually on December 3 and the show is expected to feature behind the scenes footage of the mommy/son recording process.

So happy we captured the sweetest voice in this special moment in time. My own Little Drummer Boy will be a part of the #MyGift Christmas Special beginning this Thursday on @hbomax!” Underwood shared alongside a photo of her and her son on Instagram.
