Brett Eldredge has taken an almost total break from the road this year, having played just a handful of shows.
Why Hasn’t Brett Eldredge Been Touring?
In a new interview with Evan Paul for Taste of Country, Eldredge opened up about his time off, sharing that he’s used the time to focus on what’s most important to him.
“I’ve really been spending time reflecting on my life,” he said. “I’ve been touring for over 10 years straight, and I wanted to take some time to breathe and be around family and friends and grow relationships.”
While he’s been off the road, the country crooner has gotten back to making music, though there’s no indication of when or if fans might hear what Eldredge has been up to.
“Through the time off, I’ve been writing a lot of music for fun. It’s obviously going to be for a project, but I’ve learned that instead of trying to write something that has to fit into a box or whatever, I’m just having fun writing,” he revealed. “And it’s allowed me to go to some deeper places that I’m not sure I would have been able to if I had not taken this time. Some different sounds that people haven’t fully heard from me yet, and I’m ready to expand with all this music and it’s really coming together.”
“Doing Thing That Make Me Feel Grounded And Connected To Life”
The 37-year-old further elaborated on his time off in an Instagram post in June, telling his followers that he decided to take this year to “do things that make me feel grounded and connected to life.”
“I’ve been touring for a decade and wanted to feel some normalcy for a moment, to experience some of the things I feel I’ve missed out on…not in a bus or in a parking lot behind a venue, but focusing on life with friends, family, dancing, traveling just to travel, relationships, mental health, therapy, self compassion, volunteering, all the meaningful stuff,” he wrote. “I am so grateful for the journey thus far and all of those that have supported me along the way but felt I never really supported myself as much as I should.”
He added that “getting to step back from the pressures I’ve put on myself in a wild industry and working on breaking old patterns is hardddd work but so powerful and worth it…I’m grateful for all of the lessons along the way…now I’m actually soaking it in…I’m starting to figure it out little by little, and writing and singing about it is the next step:) but for now, back to the good stuff.”
Brett Eldredge’s last album was 2022’s Songs About You. He burst onto the country scene in 2013 with his album, Bring You Back, which featured three No. 1 songs; “Don’t Ya”, “Beat of the Music”, and “Mean to Me.”
Reflected On 10 Years Of Bring You Back
Eldredge will celebrate the project’s 10th anniversary by releasing a special edition of the album, which features the recently-released vault track, “Adios Old Friend – 10 Year Anniversary Bonus Track,” which features Lee Ann Womack. The anniversary edition will also include From The Vault: Bring You Back (10 Year Anniversary Concert), a mini-concert that features a mix of hits and album cuts.
Last week, Eldredge reflected on Bring You Back in an emotional message on social media, writing that when the album was released, “I don’t think I even knew what fear was and I was gonna do whatever it took.”
“This album launched me on a rocket that I could have never dreamed of….that journey has brought many challenges, trips around the world, the highest of highs and the lowest of lows,” he shared. “I am so thankful for every part of it and I am forever grateful for all of you that made these songs a part of your life from the very start and for believing in me to grow into the artist I am today.”
He added that a “very exciting next chapter of the story is about to begin, but for today I will celebrate and soak this in.”
