Miranda Lambert is sharing a taste of what’s to come on her just-announced new album!

On Thursday, March 10, the country superstar and reigning ACM Entertainer Of The Year shared a brand-new song and detailed her ninth studio album.

“The making of this record has been one of the most fun and creative experiences of my career,” reflects the woman who holds the title of most-awarded artist in ACM history. “Luke Dick, Natalie Hemby, and I went out to my farm in Tennessee in 2020 and started writing songs. We figured while we have time let’s get out to the country and see what happens. The first one we wrote was ‘Tourist’ and that set us on a path to create something with a bit of a theme. Since we couldn’t travel at the time, we decided to go on a journey through songs. I hope y’all are ready to travel with us wandering spirits and meet some cool characters with great stories.”

Arriving on April 29, Palomino will feature 15-tracks, including her current single, “If I Was A Cowboy,” and the newly released “Strange.” The album will also feature a cover of Mick Jagger’s “Wandering Spirit,” the title track from Jagger’s 1993 solo album of the same name, as well as three songs from Lambert, Jon Randall and Jack Ingram’s collaborative project, The Marfa Tapes.

“Music City Queen” is the only collaboration on the highly-anticipated album, which features new wave group, The B-52s.

“Unthinkable things coming together,” the superstar acknowledges. “When Natalie, who is such a badass singer and the kind of person who raises the cool in every room, started singing ‘Rollin’ on the river…,’ we were all like, ‘What if The B-52s sing on this?’ They loved the song. They Zoomed in with Luke and Jon and sang their part, which gives me so much joy. I missed their Zoom, ‘cause I was on a plane; but to ZOOM The B-52s into your record? Yes, please.”

According to a press release, the record is “explores the world and the people in it, seeking beauty and adventure all around.”

To accompany her album announcement, the singer shared a new track, “Strange,” from the project that she recently teased on social media earlier this month.

“Couple hundred dollars feels more like change, yeah / times like these make me feel strange / have a smoke / buy a round / get on a dayliner going anywhere bound / pick a string / sing the blues / dance a hole in your shoes / do anything to keep you sane / cause times like these make me feel strange / times like these make me feel strange / Country don’t twang / Rock and roll ain’t loud / Every elevator only ever goes down / Everybody’s lookin’ for a little cheap fame / Yeah, and times like these make me feel strange.”

Palomino follows Lambert’s GRAMMY-winning album, Wildcard and her two collaborative projects, The Marfa Tapes and Pistol Annie’s Christmas album, Hell Of A Holiday.
