Gabby Barrett is already a big winner ahead of the 2021 American Music Awards (AMAs).
The country superstar took home her first-ever American Music Awards wins ahead of the live broadcast tonight on ABC at 8/7c.
During a TikTok live stream, hosted by JoJo, Tetris Kelly and Tiffany Taylor, the platinum-selling star was awarded with the trophies for Favorite Country Album for her 2020 debut release, Goldmine, and Favorite Country Song for the emotional, chart-topper “The Good Ones.”
While the Pennsylvania native was not on hand to accept the award, Barrett did share a video message during the stream.
“Oh my gosh, thank y’all so much,” Barrett said in a clip, wearing a black studded jacket. “I feel so honored to win these categories, and I am truly humbled and blessed by it. So, thank you!”
Barrett continued, “I am so sorry that I could not be there today, but I do want to send a big thank you to my family, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who all of this would not be possible without. My husband, my daughter, my family back home in Pittsburgh, my management, my label and seriously from the bottom of my heart, my amazing fans. Thank you so much for being a part of this and allowing me to live this life that I live. So thank you, thank you, thank you, I’m sending you so much love!”
Other albums nominated in the Favorite Country Album category were Chris Stapleton’s Starting Over, Lee Brice’s Hey World, Luke Bryan’s Born Here Live Here Die Here and Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album.
In the Favorite Country Song category, Barrett was nominated alongside Chris Stapleton’s “Starting Over,” Chris Young and Kane Brown’s “Famous Friends,” Luke Combs’ “Forever After All,” and Walker Hayes’ “Fancy Like.”
The 2021 American Music Awards will also feature performances from Olivia Rodrigo, Bad Bunny with Tainy and Juliete Venegas, Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, New Edition, New Kids on the Block, Diplo, Måneskin, Mickey Guyton, Tyler, the Creator, Walker Hayes, and Zoe Wees.
The awards ceremony will also feature dozens of presenters, including Machine Gun Kelly, Brandy, Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler, Anthony Ramos, Billy Porter, D-Nice, Drew Lachey, Joey Fatone and Shawn Stockman, JB Smoove, JoJo Siwa, Liza Koshy, Marsai Martin, Madelyn Cline, Michelle Young, and Winnie Harlow.
