With the release of his sophomore album earlier this year titled Life’s Too Short, featuring smash hits like “Still Gonna Be,” “Pretty,” “Pray Like Hell” and more, Brandon Davis has solidified himself as a force to be reckoned with in the country music genre. Now, on Friday (Nov. 3), the country crooner is back with a brand-new single, titled “21 Guns,” which serves as a tribute to Veterans everywhere.

Released via Big Yellow Dog Music, “21 Guns” is a song that is extremely meaningful to the fast-rising country star. Serving as a tribute to United States’ veterans, “21 Guns” tells the story of soldiers and their families, following the tragedy that is a lost life. It’s clear that “21 Guns” carries a personal significance for Davis, especially given his family’s military history, with his grandfather’s service. The song comes just one week ahead of Veterans Day as a way to honor the United States military and all of those who have served.

Written by Brandon Davis alongside BSAMZ and Brandon Wisham, the husband and father of four revealed that “this song has been something truly special since the day [they] wrote it,” prior to diving into the meaning behind “21 Guns” in his own words.

“So many brave men and women give all they have to protect our country and keep us free to live the lives we’ve been given. ‘21 Guns’ is a small way that we can give back and say our thanks to those who made the ultimate sacrifice and hopefully bring some comfort to their families through knowing they’re not alone as we stand behind them,” he explained passionately.

Released One Week Before Veterans Day

Aside from this tear-jerking statement, the talented singer/songwriter shared with his nearly 300k followers via Instagram, “We’re one week out from Veterans Day and to celebrate “21 Guns” is OUT NOW! There aren’t enough words to thank our incredible veterans for the selfless sacrifices they make for our country. #veteransday #newmusic #thankyou

Quickly Resonated With Listeners

Out for just mere hours, despite teasing it on social media for weeks, the song is already a fan-favorite, with dozens of listeners commenting on the Tennessee native’s Instagram post and sharing their own connections to “21 Guns.”

One fan wrote, “Just woke up & had Alexa play it. Such a beautiful song. My dad along with several great aunts & uncles & cousins have served or are serving. Many friends also. Thank you to all who are serving or have served. May God bless you and keep you safe.”

“This is such a touching song. It hits home. My dad and boyfriend are veterans, and they live their lives remembering those who lost their lives fighting for our country. God bless our veterans,” another gushed.

“This song really hits hard today! My friend from high school was a veteran, and he actually passed away on this day 11/3/2021 from a motorcycle accident,” shared a third.

While this is just a taste of all the new music Brandon Davis has on the way, he has been busy hitting the road as well, with plans to perform in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia through the remainder of 2023. He even has plans to open for Lauren Alaina on November 11, just one week from now!
