Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been together for 10 years, meeting on the set of The Voice in 2014 and tying the knot in 2021. Last year, the couple became the topic of divorce rumors in the tabloids, and Shelton addressed those rumors while co-hosting Country Countdown USA earlier this month.

“I started noticing these articles popping up about ‘Blake and Gwen, they’re split up,’” Shelton told Lon Helton. “‘They’re not even seeing each other anymore, they’re going through a divorce.’ And then, a week later, a picture comes out of us walking out of the grocery store … ‘Oh, they’re back together again!’ And another week goes by, and we’re not seen at the grocery store … ‘They’re divorcing!’”

The country star says he told his wife, “I don’t know what is going on out there,” adding that even he sometimes almost gets fooled by fake photos he sees of himself online. “I see pictures of Gwen and I on social media that I really go, ‘That looks so real.’ But I know I don’t even own that shirt or, ‘Whose car is that?’” He added, “I don’t believe anything anymore that I see on the internet. I mean nothing. I just don’t believe it.”

Shelton and Stefani originally became close after bonding over their then-recent divorces — Shelton from Miranda Lambert and Stefani from Gavin Rossdale. They began dating in 2015 and have been going strong ever since. In May 2025, Shelton reflected on the 10-year anniversary of their relationship while speaking to PEOPLE, sharing, “It honestly does [feel like time is flying by]. Some of the things that we talk about, we’re to the point in our relationship that it’s like, ‘Oh, remember what happened…’ and you realize, ‘Oh my God, that was 8 years ago!’ It’s like, how did this happen so quickly?”

While the couple has now been together for a decade, the Oklahoma native noted that the relationship “still feels new for me.” “I feel like that might be the key to happiness, is that it feels just as exciting and new and happy,” he said.

In December, a source told PEOPLE that there is “no truth to the split rumors,” adding that the couple is simply busy. “They’ve just been juggling demanding schedules,” the source said. “When they are together, it’s just so obvious how solid they are.”

Shelton is now stepfather to Stefani’s three sons, Kingston, 19, Zuma, 17, and Apollo, 11, and the couple balances parenting with their respective careers, which haven’t slowed down — Shelton just notched his 31st No. 1 at country radio and Stefani is preparing for a residency at Sphere in Las Vegas with her band, No Doubt.

“Sometimes they spend a lot of family time together and really treasure that, and then there are periods when the focus is more on work,” the source explained. “They’re both at a place in their careers where they still genuinely enjoy what they do, and they don’t want to give that up. Is it easy all the time? Of course not. They have a lot on their plates and a lot to balance, but that’s just how it is when you’re a family and both parents have careers.”
