Ariana Grande may be the newest addition to the star-studded list of coaches on NBC’s The Voice, however, could she be replacing Blake Shelton?

According to a post shared by OK Magazine earlier this week, which was titled ‘Producers at The Voice May Replace Blake Shelton After Ariana Grande Brings Fresh Energy.” While this is just a rumored report, Shelton was not happy that Grande may be ousting him from his 21-Season trek on the popular singing competition show, so much so that he sent her a text message.

In a screenshot of a text conversation between Grande and Shelton, shared by Grande via Instagram on Friday (Sept. 24), it appears Shelton sent the “Thank U, Next” singer the aforementioned article, followed by a text that read, “Thanks a lot, Ari… Thanks a f***** lot…”

Grande didn’t reply to the message from Shelton, however, she did heart (Love) the message.

The screenshot appears as the final image in the below photo series on Grande’s Instagram.

In a report by OK, the outlet claimed that a source revealed to Radar, “After a decade on the show, producers are quietly looking to replace Blake with someone younger and more current. Blake is great, but he is not in Ariana’s league.”

The source continued, “Now she [Ariana] has changed everything and opened the flood gates to future relevant talent, which isn’t good news for Blake Shelton. Sure, he is a star and people love him, but he doesn’t exactly burn up the charts anymore.”

The Voice return on Monday, September 27 at 8/7c on NBC.
