American Idol alum Kelsie Dolin celebrated her 19th birthday on Sunday (Aug. 22) with her newborn son at her side.
The Season 20 Idol fan-favorite took to her Instagram stories to wish herself a happy birthday and share an image with her son, Carter Lee Dolin.
“Happy birthday to me!!!” she captioned the photo, which finds Dolin holding her new bundle of joy in a white blanket.
Prior to her birthday, Dolin took to social media on Thursday (Aug. 18) to share a photo with a countdown to the big day.
“Three days till my birthday!!!” Dolin revealed with her followers. The text was placed on top of a photo of her holding her son, who was sleeping, in her Instagram stories. “But I already got the best gift I could ever ask for,” Dolin added alongside a prayer hands and heart emoji.
Dolin also shared the first image of her child with a funny filter that put glasses on her week-old son, who had a white pacifier in his mouth, at the time.
“Y’all he’s officially a week old,” Dolin added.
The standout Idol alum welcomed her first child on Wednesday (Aug. 10) at 5:03 PM, according to a previously shared social media post. She revealed the exciting news with fans just hours after welcoming her son.
She unveiled the news by sharing a photo of herself holding the newest addition to her family in the hospital.
“Y’all meet Carter Lee Dolin!!! He is so beautiful,” Dolin wrote. “So thankful for a healthy baby and a smooth delivery! Love you guys!!” While Dolin didn’t show much of herself or the baby, she concluded the post promising fans that she “will be posting more soon!!!”

Dolin first revealed that she was pregnant with her first child in March of 2022 while she was competing on Idol.
The aspiring singer, who was 18-years-old at the time, revealed with fans that she is expecting her first child with an Instagram post that included a photo of a sonogram.
“Y’all!! I’ve been keeping a little secret…” Dolin said. She also added a photo of her growing baby bump with a caption that reads, “little ones growing!!!!!!”
The West Virginia native went on to unveil that she will welcome a baby boy in August.
“I’m having a baby and, It’s a…. BOY!!! Can’t wait to meet baby carter!!! August 8th!!
” Dolin continued at the time.
After the exciting news of her pregnancy was shared by Dolin in March, several of her Idol cohorts, including HunterGirl, Sam Moss, Livvy Love, Kaylin Roberson, Sarah Beth Taite and more congratulated her.

,” Moss wrote. Roberson then added, “Ohhhh so exciting Kelsie!”
“Congrats Kelsie!!! ,” Taite shared.
The first time mother was a standout contestant throughout her time on Idol, with stunning performances of Adele’s “When We Were Young,” Kelly Clarkson’s “Piece By Piece” as well as Lainey Wilson’s chart-topping hit, “Things A Man Oughta Know.”
