Alexandra Kay said she was “speechless” after Scott Stapp of Creed reacted to a medley video she shared of herself singing some of the rock band’s songs.
Kay originally posted the video to her TikTok account, with Stapp sharing his reaction to her singing via Instagram and tagging the “That’s What Love Is” singer in the post.
Kay covered a variety of Creed hits in her video, including, “My Sacrifice,” “Higher,” “With Arms Wide Open,” “Rain,” and “One Last Breath.”
Stapp posted a side-by-side video of him mouthing the words to each hit beside Kay’s medley video, writing, “BEAUTIFUL JOB!” as the caption.
“I am SPEECHLESS!,” Kay responded in the comments section of the post. “I can’t believe you saw this! You have the MOST iconic voice! Thank you for watching!!!,” she continued, adding 🥹, ♥️, and 🤠 emojis.
Kay has gained notoriety on TikTok for her singing videos, most notably, her Coffee Covers series. She has covered songs from a host of different artists via the series including Miranda Lambert, Deana Carter, Reba McEntire, Shania Twain, and Tim McGraw, among others.
Kay’s talent even caught the attention of the aforementioned McGraw, who saw her posts on social media and recruited her to open for him on his 2022 tour.
McGraw praised Kay and fellow tour opener Brandon Davis, who also posts singing videos on TikTok, saying they’re both “great singers” with “big careers ahead of them.”
@alexandrakaymusic ive gotten this request for years and honestly can’t believe this is my first time singing it. Probably my new favorite to sing. #coffeecovers #patsycline #crazy
“[Alexandra Kay and Brandon Davis are] both great singers that are great people. They have such an inner light to ‘em that I think that’s gonna resonate on the stage, and I think that’s even gonna come out more when they get in front of a big crowd, in front of a lot of people on a big stage,” McGraw said.
“I think [seeing them perform on tour is] gonna be something that you’re not gonna wanna miss because I think that they’re gonna have a big career ahead of ‘em,” he continued.
Kay echoed similar sentiments, saying that the “7500 OBO” singer is “just as sweet as he can be and down-to-earth,” revealing that he called her personally to ask if she’d open for him on tour.
In addition to Stapp and McGraw, Kay also recently impressed legendary country singer Randy Travis with a medley of his greatest hits as well as many other country and rock superstars.
