Miley Cyrus rang in 2022 alongside co-host Pete Davidson during Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party in Miami, Florida and the singer didn’t let a wardrobe malfunction bring the show to a halt as she flawlessly powered through, not skipping a beat.

On Friday (Dec. 31), the superstar suffered a wardrobe malfunction as her silver shirt fell off as she transitioned her performance from “We Can’t Stop” to “Party In The U.S.A.” However, Cyrus didn’t let that stop the show, as she quickly and flawlessly corrected the issue and held the shirt in place until she turned her back to the camera, and exited the stage to grab a red jacket that she was wearing earlier in the show.

Her band and background singers continued on with the show as Cyrus didn’t miss a beat and reentered the stage topless in a red jacket.

“Everybody’s definitely looking at me now,” Cyrus sang, as she altered the lyrics to her 2009 anthem to perfectly fit the scenario. Adding, “I’m still in the most clothes that I’ve ever worn on stage.”

As the show came to a close, Cyrus let the Wardrobe issue serve as a lesson for the New Year, letting viewers know to expect the unexpected.

“Thank you so much, everybody, thank you. Tonight’s show was all about being flexible, rolling with the punches, and making the best out of even the worst circumstances. And that resilience shouldn’t end here. Let’s bring that into the New Year with us,” Cyrus said as she concluded the show.

Cyrus continued, “We’ve all learned how to expect the unexpected, and rather than see it as a problem, let’s see it as an opportunity. I wish everyone here in Miami and everyone watching from home a happy and healthy 2022. Thank you for making tonight possible. You were really all that I needed to have the ultimate party.”

Additionally, during the New Year’s Eve concert special, broadcasted on NBC, Cyrus debuted a new single live, titled, “You.”

She live debuted the piano-driven track as the show ended, adorned in a bright red dress.

“I got some baggage / Let’s do some damage / I am not made for no horsey and carriage / You know I’m savage / You’re looking past it / I want that late night sweet magic / That forever lasting love / But only if it’s with you,” Cyrus sang.

The performance ended with a grand finale worthy fireworks display.

Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, which garnered 11.2 million viewers and was the No. 3 most Googled subject in the United States with over 1 million searches, also featured performances by Cyrus as well as Brandi Carlile, Billie Joe Armstrong, Saweetie, Anitta, Jack Harlow, 24kGoldn, and Kitty Ca$h.

Co-hosted by Cyrus and Pete Davidson, the several-hour concert special gave a youthful twist to the celebration from Miami, Florida, executive produced by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels.

The show aired live at 10:30/9:30c on NBC as well as streaming on the Peacock app.
