The Idol coach performed his latest single “Waves” during the popular 2-hour singing competition show. Performing atop a stage that was flooded with ocean visuals, the singer stunned with his latest single.

“‘Waves’ is a song about kids falling in love during the summer and just all the images and everything about how beautiful that summer love is and how the emotions just keep coming in waves,” Bryan previously shared of the track. “‘Waves’ is kind of a play on words, and I fell in love with the song the second I heard it.”

Written by Zach Crowell alongside Ryan Hurd and Chase McGill, “Waves” is featured on the deluxe version of Bryan’s latest album, Born Here Live Here Die Here.

In addition to Bryan’s performance during Sunday (May 16) evening’s show, Finneas will also take the stage with Ashe to perform their duet, “Till Forever Falls Apart.” Finneas will mentor the finalists during the show, who will be grouped together to perform two of his songs as duets, including “Break My Heart Again” and “What They’ll Say About Us.”

Meanwhile, the top four will perform two additional songs each, including one song inspired by their personal idol and another that will be their live debut of their just-released winner’s single, each of which were produced by a renowned music producers.

Voting starts at the beginning of the episode and the top three finalists will be revealed at the end. Episodes can also be viewed the next day on demand and on Hulu.
