Lauren Alaina’s latest Grand Ole Opry appearance was a family affair!

The “Getting Over Him” singer performed several songs during her Opry performance, including a cover of Keith Whitley’s “When You Say Nothing At All.” Joined by her dad, a veteran of the U.S. Army, J.J. Suddeth and brother Tyler, the Georgia native brought a very special, unforgettable performance that she will have always cherish.

“This is a really big moment for me, I don’t want to say too too much, but first of all, this is my Daddy, he served in the Army,” Alaina told the capacity crowd. “So, it really seems appropriate that he’d be here tonight. Thank you to all the men and women in uniform, serving for our freedom. We would not be America without you! So God bless you and God bless your families.”

Alaina continued, “Another reason this is a really big day for us, today is my brother’s 28th birthday and he told me not to make him cry too much before this but I want to brag on my big brother.”

The country superstar then welcomed her brother Tyler to the iconic Nashville stage.

“This is my big brother Tyler, he’s wearing my daddy’s dog tags, so this is a really big night for us. When I found out that I got to play on my brother’s birthday, I called him and asked him if he could come sing with me because I think what a lot of people don’t know is i’m not the only talented person in the family,” Alaina shared. “When I was 16 years old, I tried out for American Idol and my brother was a senior in high school. And all of a sudden his little sister became this big famous girl and people started calling him Tyler Alaina, Alaina is my middle name and people called him Tyler Alaina.”

She later added, “It was his senior year of high school, when he had prom, and he had senior night and graduation. Not once was he ever jealous or every complained because I’m his little sister and he’s always protected me and always supported me and I never I would ever be able to repay him for the big brother that he is, until I thought, happy birthday brother, would you like to sing at the Grand Ole Opry. Then I called dad and say ‘Hey dad, do you want to play with us?’ The first time I ever played in Nashville, I played at Tootsie’s and I sang this song and I was 12 years old, so it felt fitting for us to play this tonight.”
