Music City was represented on Monday’s season premiere of NBC’s The Voice when Kinsey Rose took the stage to perform one of The Chicks’ signature songs.
The Nashville native’s blind audition was a memorable one as she belted out the lyrics to The Chicks’ 1999 hit, “Cowboy Take Me Away,” while playing acoustic guitar.
Sporting a red jacket with white fringe and cowboy boots, Rose called her appearance on the show a “dream come true.”
Things got heated on when Kelly Clarkson used a block to prohibit Blake Shelton from adding the country singer to his team.
“Here’s the thing, you were singing The Chicks. I grew up on their record, I love them. I was singing every word with you. I liked you so much that I used my only block,” Clarkson gushed.
“I’m glad you really wanted me,” Rose replied.

The other coaches shared their reasoning for not turning their chairs before Rose officially joined Team Kelly.
“Kinsey, I didn’t turn, but I did love the performance,” Ariana Grande told her. “You were fantastic, and I feel like this is the right thing.”
John Legend offered Kinsey a critique, telling her she was “a little pitchy.”
Kinsey Rose ultimately landed on Team Kelly as Clarkson shared, “I’m so stoked to work with you.”
The Nashville resident started playing piano and guitar when she was 10 and majored in music while in college. During the show, she revealed that she once recorded a song with Vince Gill on her album.
The Voice returned on Monday with the first episode of Season 21. The premiere continues on Tuesday, September 21 at 8/7c on NBC.
