Jason Aldean returned to the stage on Monday night (May 3) for a performance of his latest single during Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

Live from Nashville, the country superstar performed “Blame It On You” alongside his full band, making the single’s late night debut. In the song the singer croons over a relationship that went sour, but realizing he is the one to blame for the breakup, while wearing a black cowboy hat, black shirt, blue jeans and boots.

“Blame It On You” is the latest single from Aldean’s ninth studio album, 9, following his latest chart-topping hit, “Got What I Got.” The track was co-written by Aldean’s bandmates Kurt Allison and Tully Kennedy alongside John Edwards, Michael Tyler and Brian White.

“When I hear songs like ‘Blame It On You’ that have more of a pop side but are still killer…I always want to see what we can do with it. The demo had this really cool auto-tune in the background that I immediately knew we needed to leave in there,” Aldean previously shared of the track. “We ended up cranking it up and now it almost sounds like there’s another singer on the song. It’s just really cool. I’ve always said that just because it’s a slower song, it doesn’t mean that it can’t be edgy. You can still have some attitude to it.”

Additionally, Aldean’s single “Blame It On You” is currently sitting in the Top 15 on the country radio charts.

The superstar is also set to headline The Bonnaroo Farm later this month where he will perform on May 14 and 15 at the farm in Manchester, Tennessee.

The late-night talk show airs every week night at 11:35 p.m. EST on ABC.
