Walker Hayes shared a special duet with his daughter, Loxley “Lolly” Hayes, during his first-ever headlining performance at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater on Friday (May 5).
In the midst of the memorable concert, Lolly joined her dad on stage for a performance of the recently-released song, “If Father Time Had A Daughter.” With Walker Hayes taking the lead while strumming an acoustic guitar, the 9-year-old sweetly harmonized with her father.
Hayes’ wife, Laney, captured the extraordinary duet on video. The country singer later shared the moment on social media
“These are just some really really really good years,” his caption began, referencing the lyrics of the song.

“Best Show We’ve Ever Had”
He went on to share his gratitude for what he called “perhaps the best show we’ve ever had.”
“I am grateful,” he wrote. “Will never forget this moment with Lolly.”
“If Father Time Had A Daughter” was released in late March as part of a two-song offering from Hayes. At the time, he also shared the track, “6 string American dream.”
Previously Performed Together
This isn’t the first time Walker Hayes and his daughter Loxley joined forces. In June of 2022, the father/daughter pairing shared a clip to social media performing “Bigger Than Me,” an unreleased song co-written by Hayes alongside Davey Hackett, Josh Jenkins and Peter Good.
The tune finds Hayes singing about faith, heartbreak and family as well as references the loss of his childhood dog and a friend who died in the line of duty.
“Well me and my best buddy Brian played ball from Big League to the red man / The Majors never called so I went to work for dad and he went to work for Uncle Sam / Never heard how much freedom cost ’til them 21 guns went off / Folded up flag in my arms where Brian was supposed to be / Something ’bout hugging something bigger than me,” Hayes sang on the opening verse.
“Thought this was an appropriate Memorial Day song. 🇺🇸,” Hayes wrote. “Botched the third verse cuz I got a little emotional listening to Lolly crush this. Wait for her solo at the end.”
Walker Hayes’ Duck Buck Tour
Hayes is currently in the midst of his headlining Duck Buck Tour, which kicked off April 13 in Rosemont, Illinois and continues through August 5, where the trek wraps up in Sterling Heights, Michigan at Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre.
The 22-date tour features support from Chris Lane, Nicolle Galyon, BRELAND, Ray Fulcher, and Ingrid Andress.
The tour gets its name from the chorus of the title track off Hayes’ most recent album, Country Stuff The Album, in which the Mobile, AL native celebrates the trademarks of life in the country. “I like shooting ducks and bucks / I like mud tires on my trucks / I like old blue jeans, guitar strings and dirt roads,” Hayes sings in the chorus of “Country Stuff.”
Since the release of “Country Stuff,” the Duck Buck has become Hayes’ signature and now appears on his merch, across his social media channels, and within his music videos after fans grew to adore the visual.
Walker Hayes’ Entire Family Join Him On The Road
Walker Hayes’ entire family joins him on the road, including his wife Laney and their six children as well as their three dogs.
“I mean it’s constant chaos,” Hayes recently told The Observer of his family’s living situation on tour. “There is literally never a dull moment. I know that’s a cliché that people say, but in our life, it is never dull.”

While it can be hectic to travel with his family, the Alabama native wouldn’t trade it for anything.
“We’re going to remember these days. It’s a lot of laundry. It’s hard on Laney. It’s a lot of packing up. But it’s just a beautiful, chaotic thing that I think not everybody gets to do,” Hayes previously told CMT. “I’d have given anything to have had this much time with my dad as a kid. So, I’m grateful for that. I’m kind of like, ‘Hey, if that’s how we’re working, I’ll go anywhere management tells me to go. I’m good with that.”
Hayes Says It’s A “Special Atmosphere” To Have His Family On The Road
Hayes previously shared that it’s a “special atmosphere” to have his family on the road with him. His children even get to take part in the shows when they join him on stage for choreographed dance routines during various performances.
“We get to be together more than any family I know. I can only hope that that’s going to be beneficial for my kids down the road, hopefully, that’ll strengthen their own families,” he continued. “It truly is the season of all seasons for us. We are having so much fun traveling the world and looking at each other in the face after we’ve all done the ‘Fancy Like’ dance in front of 10,000 [people], you know, people going crazy. I mean it’s pretty indescribable.”
