Today, The Prince Estate has unveiled two new social media accounts – @Prince is now active on Twitter and Instagram, celebrating the iconic life and legacy of Prince. Content previously posted on Prince’s official Twitter and Instagram during his lifetime is now permanently archived for fans to view in its original form at @PRNlegacy on both Twitter and Instagram.
To help celebrate the launch of the Prince social media accounts, The Prince Estate has aligned with GIPHY to create an enormous library of Prince GIF content on the web. The new channel (giphy.com/prince) features over 1,700 of the best Prince GIF moments from every decade of his 40+ year career. Additionally, fans are now able to share this great new content within their conversations through any GIF button powered by GIPHY, including Facebook, Messenger, Twitter, Instagram, Tinder, Slack and countless more.
On Friday, February 8, The Prince Estate and Legacy Recordings, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, released the first round of physical titles as part of the ongoing and definitive Prince catalog project first announced last year. Three essential full-length Prince albums, Musicology, 3121 and Planet Earth, are now available on CD and – for the first time ever – on vinyl. Each of the vinyl titles has been pressed on highly collectible, limited edition purple vinyl. In addition, the albums are also available in both CD/LP form alongside new exclusive merchandise corresponding to each album era via the Official Prince Store.
