With the release of their newest single titled “We Love Country Music” to kick off 2024, The Bennett Hall Band — consisting of three sisters named Kat, Presley, and Josie Hall — are definitely on the rise within the country music scene.

Who is The Bennett Hall Band?

In an exclusive interview with Music Mayhem, Kat, Presley, and Josie kicked off the conversation by sharing who The Bennett Hall Band is, as well as how they came to be.

According to the band, their musical journey began with 15-year-old Kat, who chose to take a voice class over a dance class at the age of six. Naturally, 14-year-old Presley and 11-year-old Josie followed in her footsteps, prior the sister trio picking up some instruments: guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, keys, and beyond.

As for their specific roles within The Bennett Hall Band, according to Kat, “We all sing, we do lots of harmony together. We all contribute, like musically. Presley and I do more of the songwriting, but Josie is doing lots of songwriting of her own. We’re kind of mixing her into the process, but I do a lot of the social media part of it, but we’re all really big on doing the videos. Lots of people like that on social media, and it helps us get followers and stuff like that, so it’s a pretty good team effort.”

Trio Is Composed Of Three Young Sisters

Nonetheless, after realizing that the three sisters could “actually harmonize together and all that stuff” — regardless of who tends to do what — Presley revealed that The Bennett Hall Band “started playing local gigs, like smaller gigs and open mics and stuff like that, and then [they] started getting bigger gigs.” Since forming the group, Kat, Presley, and Josie have performed at venues like CMA Fest, El Dorado Festival, Tom Petty Weekend, Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Room, The Station Inn, and more, with dreams of playing at the Grand Ole Opry someday.

With Josie revealing that she and her sisters are “best friends and really like working together and singing together, and it’s really fun,” and Presley adding that they do not fight (despite what fans might think), The Bennett Hall Band is as cohesive and united as can be. After all, they all share the same room and have for our entire lives.

How did The Bennett Hall Band get their name?

As for the name of the group itself, Kat, Presley, and Josie landed on The Bennett Hall Band to pay tribute to their brother named Bennett, who passed away in 2010. Presley dished, “We were kind of all thinking about a band name, and you know, just considering our options, and then I think mom was like, ‘Why don’t we name it after your brother?’ and we were like, ‘Oh, that’s a really good idea,’ so then we decided to name it The Bennett Hall Band. We don’t really know if he would have sang in the band or not, but either way, we did want to, you know, dedicate it to him.”

In a Facebook post on January 2, The Bennett Hall Band elaborated on their name even further, sharing Bennett’s story. “In March of 2010, W. Bennett Hall, was born and met Jesus on the same day. He was buried in a tiny grave, marked by a single horseshoe, that belonged to his granddaddy many years ago. Gone but never forgotten, in our home filled with all things ‘girl,’ it was an easy decision to honor him when we chose a name for our band. Thus, The Bennett Hall Band was a clear choice for the three of us,” the post read, before sharing how their logo came to be as well.

“We Love Country Music,” Out Now

Admitting that some of their biggest influences are Gabby Barrett, Carly Pearce, Loretta Lynn, The Judds, George Strait, and more, The Bennett Hall Band decided to pay tribute to these country music icons with their newest song “We Love Country Music” — out now on all music streaming platforms — which name-drops some of the biggest stars in the industry.

Kat shared with Music Mayhem how this tune came to be, revealing that “It’s just a song about how much we love country music and how we try to, with our songwriting and stuff, have some older country, have some newer country… We wanted something upbeat, because we have some that are a little more mid-tempo, so it has really big, older country music fans, and like 90s, and some of the stuff from now too, so we just thought it would be really fun to just have one that just mentions them, and kind of pays tribute to people that we look up to.”

“We Love Country Music” serves as the follow-up to The Bennett Hall Band’s debut album titled Say Yes, which hit all music streaming platforms on May 1 and features hits like “Where’s My Man,” “When My Savior Was Born,” “Heartbroke Again,” and more.

Plans and Goals for 2024

“We Love Country Music” is The Bennett Hall Band’s first release of 2024, with Kat admitting that it was “[their] way of kicking off the new year,” teasing tons and tons of new tunes on the horizon. The first track that country music lovers should keep their eyes peeled for is a song called “Catch Me If You Can,” which the sister trio teased is their next release.

Kat continued, “We were just in the studio this last Wednesday. We were doing masters for a new song that’s coming out. It’s called “Catch Me If You Can,” and then we have lots of new songs that we’re going to try to get in the studio too, because we want to put out another album, so that’s kind of the goal for this year… The other album was kind of our first one, and we were trying to figure everything out, but this next one has more songs that are a little more age related, just like to speak out to girls our age and stuff, so that’s kind of what’s coming next.”

Representing women and representing a younger generation within country music

Speaking of age-related songs that speak out to a younger generation (especially women), The Bennett Hall Band dished about what it’s like being such a one-of-a-kind band, consisting of three women all under the age of 18.

“It’s just like different…. We’re sisters, and we’re just trying to bring something new,” Kat shared, considering themselves not a younger, more modern version of The Chicks, but instead something entirely different.

Presley added that The Bennett Hall Band is “kind of bringing back, I feel like, a sister group, because I feel like there hasn’t been a lot in a while, and of course, you know, representing women in country [music].”

Open Up About Finding Success On Social Media

Aside from the music itself, as mentioned, Kat, Presley, and Josie see social media as a major aspect of The Bennett Hall Band.

While Kat does most of the social media management, Presley shared in our exclusive interview, “I think how we started getting more followers on social media was probably during COVID, because we posted a lot during COVID and people were just, you know, sitting at home on their phones, and I think that’s really where we also got started. It was Facebook first, and we were doing a bunch of Facebook lives, and people loved that. Then we got Instagram and TikTok, and then we realized how much it was helping the band, and how we were getting more gigs, and just more exposure.”

While social media has definitely helped The Bennett Hall Band reach country music lovers across the globe, Kat admitted that “a lot of time and a little frustration” goes into making TikToks and other social media content for the sister trio, “because [they] are really picky about what goes on there, and like the content of, you know, the sound and the harmonies and stuff like that.”

She continued passionately, “We kind of get on rolls sometimes where we’re like, ‘Okay, we’ve got to do one every other day’ or every day or whatever, but it’s really fun to see what comes out of it… Presley and Josie did a song from White Christmas, “Sisters,” and it has almost three million, and that’s like our top right now, but there’s a lot going into it.”

Advice for aspiring artists

Last but certainly not least, Josie closed out the conversation by sharing some advice for aspiring artists (especially those who are young), telling them to “keep on going and maybe not to stop what they’re doing. If they say they’re singing or playing an instrument, just to keep going and they’ll make it.”

“Also it doesn’t matter if you’re young, because you can still do cool things,” Presley added, and The Bennett Hall Band is proof of this statement. With the release of “We Love Country Music,” and “Catch Me If You Can” on the way, it is clear that their future is extremely bright!

To hear “We Love Country Music” for yourself — as well as the other tunes that the sister trio has released — you can find The Bennett Hall Band on all music streaming platforms.
