Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially getting married!

The superstar couple shared the exciting news of their engagement with fans on Tuesday (Aug. 26) through a heartfelt joint post on social media. The announcement was paired with a series of photos and a captioned that perfect captures their fairytale relationship.

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨” the couple captioned the post. The post was set to Swift’s fan-favorite Midnights track, “So High School,” a song that fans have speculated to have been inspired by their nostalgic love story.

The post featured five photos from their engagement, which took place in a beautiful botanical garden filled with white and pink flowers, lush greenery, and natural stone elements. The first photo shows Kelce, wearing khaki shorts and black cable-knit polo, down on one knee proposing to Swift, donning a white Ralph Lauren halter dress with black stripes, Louis Vuitton sandals and her signature red lips, surrounded by elegant floral arrangements. The carousel of images continues with posed photos of Swift and Kelce gazing into each other’s eyes in a sweet embrace, holding hands and hugging.

Swift also included a close-up shot of her dazzling, massive engagement ring, which is a gold band ring with a huge old mine brilliant-cut diamond, custom designed by Kelce himself with the assistance of Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry (per Page Six).

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s love story started in July of 2023, when the Kansas City Chief’s tight-end attended The Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium. At the show, Travis Kelce attempted to get a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it to Swift, but unfortunately, was unable to make it happen.

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings, so I was a little butt hurt that I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” Kelce recently explained on the record-breaking New Heights Podcast episode featuring Swift that took place earlier this month.

“This dude didn’t get a meet and greet, and he’s making it everyone’s problem. That’s what I thought at first. You realize he didn’t even reach out to [my] management. He thought that because he knows the elevator lady, that he could talk to her about just getting down to my dressing room,” Swift added before comparing their relationship to the ’80s John Hughes movie, Say Anything. “[It’s like] he was standing outside of my window with a boom box saying, ‘I want to date you! Do you want to go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet! Do you want to date me?’”

She then admitted that, “‘If this guy’s not crazy, this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.’ It was wild, but it worked. I’m glad it worked.”

Rumors swirled about the couple’s relationship before they officially went public in October of 2023. Since going public, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been by each other’s sides at numerous events, outings and Kansas City Chiefs’ games.

The news comes nearly two weeks after Taylor Swift announced her 12th studio album, The Life Of A Showgirl, on the New Heights Podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce. “This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant. And it just comes from like the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in my life and so that effervescence has come through on this record,” she detailed before adding that the album is full of “bangers.”

“I was so mentally stimulated and excited to be creating,” she gushed. “[The album is] a lot more upbeat, and it’s a lot more fun pop excitement. My main goals were melodies that were so infectious, you’re almost angry at it.”

Arriving October 3 via Republic Records, The Life Of A Showgirl features 12 tracks, including “Elizabeth Taylor,” “Wood,” “Wi$h Li$t,” “Ruin the Friendship,” “Honey,” “Actually Romantic,” “CANCELLED!,” “Eldest Daughter,” “Father Figure,” “Opalite,” “The Fate of Ophelia,” and the title track, a collaboration with her longtime friend Sabrina Carpenter.

For the project, she returned to her former producers Max Martin and Shellback, both of whom she worked with on Red (2012), 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). The Life Of A Showgirl follows Taylor Swift’s previous album, The Tortured Poets Department, produced by Swift, Jack Antonoff, Aaron Dessner and Patrik Berger.
