The rock music community and beyond are mourning the loss of 3 Doors Down singer Brad Arnold, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 47.
The “Kryptonite” singer, whose real name is Bradley Kirk Arnold, died on Saturday (Feb. 7) in his sleep surrounded by his wife, Jennifer, and his closest relatives after a short battle with cancer, according to a statement shared by the award-winning rock band. “With heavy hearts, we share the news that Brad Arnold, founder, lead singer, and songwriter of 3 Doors Down, passed away on Saturday, February 7th, at the age of 47. With his beloved wife Jennifer and his family by his side, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in his sleep after his courageous battle with cancer,” the statement read. Brad Arnold was survived by his wife, Jennifer.
As the news of Arnold’s passing spread, artists such as Sevendust, Bret Michaels, Chris Daughtry, Scott Stapp, Jason Aldean, Shinedown, Mark Tremonti, Chase Matthew, and many more.
Sevendust, Alter Bridge, Creed, Blackstone Cherry, Chris Daughtry, Godsmack, Bret Michaels, Saving Abel, Mark Tremonti, Seether, and more took to social media after hearing the news to remember the “Here Without You” singer.
“Rest now, brother. Thank you for all you have given us,” Sevendust wrote, while their frontman added, “Oh man, my day completely stopped when I found out the news about Brad passing away today. Sorry it’s not enough for his family for him. We love you. You are a legend. We will keep you in our prayers and keep your life every day. Thank you so much for your talent and your friendship, my brother so sorry I’m so sorry we love you, and we love your family. God bless and you are in heaven for sure. Love you. Zach Myers of Shinedown added, “…I met Brad Arnold and Chris Henderson in the summer of 1999 while 3 Doors Down was making their first album and my band was making our 2nd … we were friends ever since… Brad was the most compassionate human you could ever meet his love for his family, music, God, and country were palpable… We toured the entire world together several times… as a person who’s believed in God my whole life… this is one of the ones where I ask why… this was the last photo l ever took of my friend in August of 23 … I’ll miss you, BA… but so will everyone else. My love to Jenn , the band, and his family….this one is gonna take me a long time.”
Alter Bridge commented, “Thank you, Brad, your friendship was one we will hold close forever. Until we meet again.” Blackstone Cherry said, “We are so very sorry. Brad was always such a top-notch, class act to us. Even before we were anything at all, he supported us. Such a huge loss, and our prayers go out to his family and band. ❤️”

Michaels shared a selfie with Brad Arnold, and stated that his concert tonight at Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut will be dedicated to the late “Here Without You” singer. “The show tonight is dedicated to my friend Brad Arnold of 3 Doors Down. You will forever be loved and missed. May you rest in peace.”
“💔 I could only do what I did because you already paved the way. Brokenhearted is an understatement. You have always been my hero. Love you, Brad. Sending love to Jen and the rest of my brothers in 3 Doors Down,” Saving Abel shared.
Tremonti remembered Arnold: “One of the kindest people I’ve ever had the privilege of calling my friend passed away today. It is absolutely heartbreaking to realize that you’ll never get to perform or just have a laugh with a friend that you grew up with in the music industry. We toured together for decades and must have shared hundreds of stages. @brad3doorsdown I’m going to miss you and all the great moments we shared, and none of us will ever forget the amazing person that you always were.”
Seether wrote, “It is with incredible sadness that we say goodbye to our dear friend, Brad. He was a light in the dark and a truly wonderful man. It was an honor and privilege to know him, and he will live forever in our hearts. Rest easy now, brother. We will see you on the other side.”

“This is truly heartbreaking. We will all miss you and your talents you shared with the world. Rest easy, buddy,” Aldean wrote in his Instagram stories.
“Legend. Tough day, beyond grateful for Brad and his impact on my life. RIP ❤️” Ross wrote, while DeMarcus shared, “Sad day today. @brad3doorsdown and I wrote together several times, and there wasn’t a nicer human being, not to mention immensely talented… Rest easy, my friend, you’re home now. ❤️”
Snell added, “The literal sound of my childhood. Will forever look up to Brad for his talent and speaking the word of god. RIP. ❤️”
Rich shared, “Big Kenny and I had the pleasure of being musical friends with Brad Arnold. What a kindhearted, talented man he was. So sad to hear of his passing. He will be missed, but his music will live on forever,” while Kenny wrote, “So sad to hear of the passing of our friend Brad Arnold of 3 Doors Down.
