World-renowned songstress P!nk has always highlighted her close-knit relationship with her father, Jim Moore. So, when the Vietnam War veteran lost his battle to prostate cancer back in August, the megastar took to social media to express her heavy heart.

Instead of writing a lengthy tribute, she allowed two simple black-and-white photos to do all the talking. One image showed Moore hand in hand with his young daughter, and the last photo was from her wedding day when she tied the knot with Carey Hart

“Til forever,” she captioned the touching post. During his fight against cancer, the “Raise Your Glass” artist also uploaded a photo of the two sharing the spotlight in New York City. It was during a 2007 MTV show when she called up her father to perform “I Have Seen the Rain” for the very first time on stage.

She kicked off the memorable moment by confessing to the audience that she considers her father her “Rockstar” and that she became a strong individual because of him.

“He wrote a song about forty years ago in Vietnam,” says P!nk during the live concert. “And I think it’s important today because it’s a soldier’s cry, and we’re producing them by the thousands. And tonight, this is a really special evening because the first time my dad’s ever performed in front of a group is going to be right now,” she adds.

While the venue exploded with cheers and praise, she asked her “favorite person in the whole world” to join her by the mic. Wearing a simple baseball hat and an acoustic guitar in hand, he looked into his daughter’s eyes and said, “we ready? Here we go, sweetie.”

As the two sang the soulful tune, the audience clapped along and appreciated the sentimental piece. The previous year, the pop princess included the moving ballad on her fourth studio record, I’m Not Dead.

“It was really special to be able to record a song with my dad,” says the award-winning artist. “The first song I ever learned. We hope you like it, and we dedicate it to all the vets out there.” Throughout the years, P!nk has continued to share her support for the men and women fighting overseas and for the ones who lost their lives for our freedom.

In fact, back in 2019, she shared an adorable photo on Instagram of her family at a patriotic affair on Memorial Day. “I’m so proud of my family. Memorial Day. Every year they march for the fallen soldiers that she cared for and he fought with. I salute you all. Wish I could’ve been there to march with you Daddy-Sir. #gonebutnotforgotten,” she wrote.

Before Moore became her guardian angel, she kept loved ones and her loyal fan base in the loop by posting updates about her father’s health. The July social media image captured her brave father in a hospital bed with a smile ear to ear undergoing chemotherapy. “Oh, Dad. How amazing it is to watch you whistle through hell.”

To this day, fans continue to flood P!nk’s social platforms with their condolences and kind support.
