Reba McEntire shared an update on her Oklahoma-based restaurant, Reba’s Place, during a recent episode of Southern Accents Radio with Grammy Award-winning producer and host Dave Cobb on Apple Music Country.
McEntire shared how much she’s enjoying making all the details around Reba’s Place come together and that she hopes her restaurant will open this fall.
“[My restaurant is] Reba’s Place in Atoka, Oklahoma,” McEntire told Cobb. “And we have the greatest team. We’re partnered up with the city of Atoka, Oklahoma and the Choctaw Nation. We’ve been working on it for a year and a half. And we’ve had such a good time. We’ve gone through the menu, a Chef Curtis, now Chef Jordan, and we’ve hired our team, our crew.”
“At first, it was a way to give back to the community, but I think they’re giving me more than I’m giving them. It’s just that sense of reconnecting with everybody in that part of the country. And we’re having a great time with it and I can’t wait for it to open. Hopefully, it’ll be this fall,” she said.
In addition, McEntire answered a very important question about her latest venture while speaking with a variety of press outlets: whether or not corn dogs will be on the menu at her restaurant.
“Chicken fingers have replaced corn dogs,” McEntire revealed, adding, “I guess we got a little burned out on the corn dogs, but Chef Curtis, who is doing the menus for us, is a wonderful chef.”

Besides chicken fingers, Chef Curtis will also be making steaks, cheeseburgers, beans, and cornbread, McEntire said. She’s even offered to help sample Chef Curtis’ food, she explained during the press conference.
“I told [Chef Curtis], anytime you are ready to start sampling all the good food that was going to be at Reba’s Place in Atoka, Oklahoma, I’ll be ready to come in and help sample it all,” she shared. “We’re really excited.”
“We’re hoping to be able to do a soft opening real soon and everybody in Atoka, Oklahoma, Southeastern Oklahoma’s very, very excited about this,” she continued. “And that makes me feel really good that when I say I’m coming home to Oklahoma to start a restaurant and it makes me feel real good that everybody’s excited about it. And the community of Atoka and the surrounding areas are very excited too, because that just brings new life and a breath of fresh air into Atoka. And everybody’s getting really excited about it.”
In discussing all the important details around getting Reba’s Place ready for opening and setting the menu, McEntire also shared one thing her restaurant won’t be serving: Rocky Mountain oysters.
When asked if the dish would appear on the menu at her restaurant during a recent press conference, McEntire said, “no, I don’t think so,” remarking, “nobody could cook [Rocky Mountain oysters] like mama.”
McEntire announced that she’d be opening a restaurant called Reba’s Place while on stage in Oklahoma back in November 2021. The songstress said Reba’s Place would be located in the old Masonic building in Atoka and that the restaurant would have “great food, family atmosphere, and a bandstand.”
According to its official website, Reba’s Place is a combination restaurant, bar, live music venue, and retail store. The restaurant, which was formed in partnership with the Choctaw nation of Oklahoma and the city of Atoka, will be located at 319 East Court Street in Atoka, Oklahoma.
Musically speaking, McEntire released her latest album, My Chains Are Gone, featuring her favorite hymns and gospel songs back in March.
She also concluded her Reba: Live In Concert tour on March 19 in Rosemont, Illinois. The tour featured an all-female lineup with support from Brandy Clark, Hannah Dasher, Caylee Hammack, Reyna Roberts, Caitlyn Smith, Brittney Spencer, and Tenille Townes on various dates.
