On Monday (July 27), the country icon revealed the details of what is to come with individual posts to his Instagram and that is a new radio single and his first since 2013.
The single is called “Fool’s Love Affair” and it will be unleashed onto Country radio with the request for heavy rotation on Wednesday (July 29). The song was recorded several years back, however it was released put out to the public.
Wednesday, July 29 will also mark the 35th Anniversary of his debut single “On The Other Hand,” which became Travis’ first No. 1 single.
“Fool’s Love Affair” was co-written by Charlie Monk alongside Milton Brown and Keith Stegall.
The country singer also recorded a new duet of “Forever And Ever Amen” for Josh Turner’s forthcoming album, Country State Of Mind, which marked Travis’ first trip into the studio to record vocals since suffering a stroke in 2013.
“Randy has always been my hero. He was the reason I wanted to become a country singer…” Turner said in a statement. “He’s an inspiring figure, not just to me but to a lot of people, so to have him sing on this record is pretty special.”
A Country 106.5 WYRK on-air personality confirmed the news as well with a Tweet saying “The song will be released digitally on July 29th, which is the impact date.”
