Olivier Bergeron channeled his inner rockstar with an impressive performance of an Audioslave hit during the “Showstoppers” round on American Idol.

Olivier Delivers Stunning Cover Of “Like A Stone” by Audioslave On Idol

The 22-year-old truck driver from the tiny village of Kedgwick, New Brunswick, left a lasting impression on the American Idol judges with a soul-stirring performance of “Like A Stone” by Audioslave. As he confidently took the stage and began to sing, it didn’t take long for Idol judges — Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, and Lionel Richie — to be completely captivated by his raw talent and impressive vocal delivery.

Olivier, wearing brown pants and a flannel shirt over a white tank top, belted out the lyrics to the massive rock hit, “In your house, I long to be/ Room by room, patiently/ I’ll wait for you there like a stone/ I’ll wait for you there alone.”

Each note he hit seemed to draw them in even more, and as his voice soared through the chorus, the judges couldn’t contain their excitement. They shouted out praise mid-performance, and even went as far as calling him a rockstar. By the time he wrapped up the final note, all three judges were left stunned, blown away by a voice they never saw coming.

Channeled His Inner Rockstar With A Voice Reminiscent Of Chris Cornell

With a voice similar to the late Chris Cornell, Olivier Bergeron certainly has a bright future ahead of him and could even potentially be crowned the next American Idol winner.

“There’s your rockstar right there,” Luke Bryan gushed to Carrie Underwood, who replied, “Where did he come from!?”

Lionel Richie was enthralled by Olivier’s performance and kept shouting, “I love it. Love it!”

His performance was met with a roaring standing ovation from the Idol judges and his fellow Idol hopefuls present in the audience.

Olivier American Idol Audition

Additionally, Olivier first took American Idol by storm with his epic audition, where he delivered a unique rendition of “Save Me” by Jelly Roll, despite a language barrier.

The Idol judges praised his stunning “Save Me” cover, which earned him his golden ticket to advance to Hollywood week. “One side of me wants to say, just hold him for a minute. Let him kind of develop, but you’ve got a unique style that you can work with,” Richie said at the time of Olivier’s Idol audition. Luke Bryan chimed in, “you’re acting like you want to roll some dice there, Lionel. I think I’m going to roll the dice too.”

Carrie Underwood agreed with Richie and Bryan, “I think I’m going to roll that dice too. I’m going to say yes.”

After his audition, full of excitement, Olivier exited the Idol audition room to share the news with his family, who were waiting outside the door. “I’m going to Hollywood!” he said with a big smile on his face.

American Idol airs every Sunday and Monday at 8/7c on ABC.
