Nickelback paid tribute to the late Charlie Daniels with a cover of The Charlie Daniels Band classic hit “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” on Friday (August 14). The song is available to hear below.

Earlier in the week, the rock band began to tease an announce for today (August 14) and fans started to freak out.

“The Devil Went Down To Georgia” cover features Canadian guitarist Dave Martone (Marty Friedman, Yngwie Malmsteen), who fills the fiddle spots with his electric guitar.

“The Devil Went Down To Georgia” is co-written by Written Charlie Daniels alongside Tom Crain, “Taz” DiGregorio, Fred Edwards, Charles Hayward and James W Marshall.

Nickelback hasn’t released any new music since their 2017 album, Feed The Machine, however the band wasn’t teasing new original songs but a cover of Charlie Daniels Band’s “The Devil Went Down To Georgia.”

The band will be releasing a 15th anniversary edition of All the Right Reasons on October 2.
