Along with one of country’s biggest stars, Morgan Wallen is also a dad to 2-year-old son Indigo (Indie) Wilder Wallen, who recently experienced a milestone thanks to his famous dad.

In a photo on his Instagram Story, Wallen revealed that his son had officially taken his first plane ride, sharing a snap of himself and his son on a private jet, Indigo kneeling on his dad’s lap as they both looked out the window.

Morgan Wallen is currently on his massive One Night At A Time World Tour, he told Entertainment Tonight in March that he’d be bringing Indie out on the road with him.

“I don’t know exactly what dates or anything like that, but I feel like he’s getting to the point where he’s old enough,” the Tennessee native shared. “Last tour he was still a little young and probably wouldn’t even have any clue what’s going on, but I think now he’s getting to the point where he will see what’s happening and I definitely want him [with me]. I’d take him everywhere I went if I could, but you know, obviously he’s gotta spend time with his mama too.”

Performance In Honor Of Son Indigo Wilder Wallen

During a recent show Indie attended, Wallen gave a shoutout to his son, dedicating his song “Dying Man,” from his album One Thing at a Time, to the 2-year-old.

“Whenever I do sing it, I always think about my son,” Wallen told the crowd of the song in a fan-captured video. “Since he’s here tonight, I’m gonna sing it for him.”

“Dying Man”

Co-written by Ben Johnson, Blake Pendergrass, and Josh Thompson, “Dying Man” follows a character who was certain his poor choices in life would lead to tragedy before he met a woman who turned things around for him.

During an appearance on Country Countdown USA, Wallen explained that in his interpretation of the song, it’s his son who saved him instead of a partner.

“‘Dying Man’ is a song that speaks on – I wasn’t always sure, I guess none of us were, you know? Maybe I thought that I might die sooner than later and then once my son came into the world, I felt like I had a whole new reason to live and stick around,” he said. “This song is talking about a woman, but for me, it’s more to my son than it is to a woman.”

The track references multiple celebrities who met untimely ends to due substance use including Elvis Presley and Hank Williams, something Wallen admitted he’s gotten close to.

“I don’t know how many times I should have died,” the 30-year-old further explained in the bio for his album. “There’s plenty of times. And for some reason, it never really scared me. I don’t know why. I should have been terrified the next day, but I never was. And then he was born, and he gave me something different to live for. So this song is dedicated to him.”

Morgan Wallen Credits His Son As A “Huge Reason To Live”

Wallen also spoke to ET Canada about the song, sharing that his son’s arrival gave him a “huge reason to live.”

“That’s just a song that hints on the idea that someone or something, you know, gave you a reason to keep living,” the singer explained.

“I mean, I was never, like, thinking I was going to die or anything, but it’s just, it’s geared towards my son,” he added. “He gave me a huge reason to live and a huge reason to live in a better way.”
