Morgan Wallen went golfing with his musical hero and fellow country superstar Eric Church!

In a photo shared to Wallen’s Instagram on Tuesday, June 22, Wallen appears to have gone golfing with Eric Church. The country superstars are seen in the photo riding in a golf cart on an undisclosed golf course. Church is driving the cart, while Wallen is in the passenger seat wearing a Tennessee volunteers polo shirt and a hat that reads “Amen.”

“Couple them southern boys,” Wallen captioned the image.

Wallen and Church previously spent some time together fishing with Church in late April 2021.

In a recent Billboard feature with Church, he admitted that while he still holds Wallen accountable for his upsetting actions, he also knows that Wallen is going to continue to work on himself and hopes that he gets the help he needs to move past the situation at hand.

“That was indefensible. I was heartbroken when it happened,” Church says. “I think Morgan’s trying to work on that and on himself. And I hope he does.”

Admittedly, Church is one of Wallen’s musical heroes and Church is also a big fan of Wallen’s.

“The way he wrote songs and the way that he said things really struck a chord with me. His realness, raw emotion and authenticity drew me in,” Wallen told Billboard.

Church, also a fan of Wallen’s, as prior to the Wallen controversy, Church shared, “He’s real damn good and he’s authentic, That’s the key. Morgan is not trying to be somebody else. He’s just doing him. It’s refreshing to see and hear.”

Wallen also had Church co-write a track on his chart-topping double album, Dangerous, called “Quittin’ Time.” A song that Wallen previously told Country Now is “truly one of my favorite accomplishments so far,” as he admires Church’s style, attitude and just the overall way he handles himself which he admits has always resonated with him.

“Quittin’ Time” is the song that got Wallen his “initial contact” with Church. Wallen revealed that he got to know him after writing the song together.

“Since then I’ve been able to spend some time with him and get to know him a little bit better,” Wallen previously shared. “Which is cool for me, just because of how much he means to me musically.”
