Morgan Wallen scored his sixth No. 1 hit with “Wasted On You.”

The song, which was most-added at Country radio with 82 adds upon release, reached the top spot on the Mediabase chart this week, seizing the throne from Parmalee’s “Take My Name.”

“Wasted On You” was co-written by Wallen alongside Ryan Vojtesak, Ernest K. Smith (ERNEST), and Josh Thompson. The track finds the East Tennessee native crooning over the downfall of a relationship while reflecting on everything he’s “wasted” on his ex. He also admits to turning to a bottle of bourbon to help ease the pain.

The songwriters found a clever way to use the term wasted in multiple ways as Wallen admits he’s wasted time, money and miles on his past lover, while also getting wasted to drown out the memories.

“All of this time and all of this money/ All of the these sorries I don’t owe you honey/ All of these miles on this Chevy, and prayers in a pew/ All them days I spent, wasted on you/ Wasted on you,” he sings on the chorus.

Wallen first debuted “Wasted On You” in January 2021 as part of The Dangerous Sessions, an acoustic series leading up to the much-anticipated release of his album.

The song is the second track on Wallen’s record-breaking sophomore project, Dangerous: The Double Album.

The track became an immediate fan favorite and on November 23, 2021, less than 12 months after its initial release, the song was certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA for certified units (sales and stream equivalents) of 2 million.

“Wasted On You” follows Wallen’s fifth chart-topping hit, “Sand In My Boots,” which went No. 1 in late February of 2022.

Additionally, Morgan Wallen is currently in the midst of his massive The Dangerous Tour in support of the project. The tour, which is the biggest country tour of 2022 and runs through October, recently sold-out with over 800,000 tickets sold, according to Up2DateCountry.

In addition to HARDY and Larry Fleet, the country hitmaker recently added Lainey Wilson, Kameron Marlowe, Chase Rice, Ian Munsick, and ERNEST to his sold-out tour lineup.

The singer also announced his first-ever Stadium show in Arlington, Texas, at Globe Life Field on October 8, 2022, with special guests HARDY, Mike Ryan and Jake Worthington.
